This year in honor of Pride month, I propose a radical change. We have all been taught that we need to “come out” about who we are. That we need to announce our sexuality to our family as if they are the authority over whether we are acceptable or worthy.

But in the the deepest truth, NO ONE on this Earth has the authority over whether we are acceptable or worthy. This whole acceptance thing is just a fear tactic created by society and religion to control us and to put us in a box to make us feel inferior. And it’s designed this way so that those on the “opposite” side of the fence can continue thinking they are more holy in some way.

NO ONE is more unholy than the one casting the stone of judgment upon another. For it is our birth right to love.

Have you ever noticed that no one can take love away from you? No matter how many times they try to beat it out of you, it’s still there? Because love lives inside of you beyond anything attainable.

So my radical proposition is to end this idea of “coming out”. Instead, when you meet that person that lights up your heart, that sees you as the beautiful being that only God could have created, you decide to introduce that person to the other people in your life not as a coming out of your sexuality, but as a sharing of the love you have for the person that has reminded you of the love in your heart.

That love that has always existed, before anyone told you who you are supposed to be.
