Years ago, I stumbled across the word Hygge on Pinterest.

I immediately created a board and started pinning all the things that felt like Hygge to me. The funny thing is, I realized I had been trying to create Hygge in my life long before I ever knew there was a word for it.

To me, Hygge is more than cozy blankets, warm fireplaces and beautiful spaces.

Hygge is being fully present.

It’s a moment where you don’t have to worry about what’s coming next or carry the weight of what happened yesterday. It’s a place where you can take a deep breath, let your walls down, and allow healing to happen.

That is exactly what I wanted to create when I named this place The Hygge Day Spa.

I wanted a space in our community that felt special without feeling unattainable. A high-end experience without the high-end price tag. A place that was clean, comfortable, warm and inviting—but most importantly, a place where people felt safe and genuinely cared for.

I want you to feel the difference within seconds of walking through our doors.

I want you to take a deep breath without even realizing you’re doing it.

I want you to sink into a cozy chair, wrap up in a blanket, sit by the fireplace, put on a fluffy robe and feel, even if just for a little while, like the outside world can wait.

And I want every person who walks through our doors to feel like, for that moment, this place was created just for them.

Some of my favorite moments are when a client doesn’t want to get off the treatment table quite yet, or when someone lingers a little longer in the relaxation room after their service.

Because that’s when I know we’re doing what we set out to do.

Hygge wasn’t created simply to provide spa treatments. My hope has always been that it would be a place of respite for our community—a place to care for your body, quiet your mind, and fill your soul.

A place you can come back to again and again when life gets heavy.

That is why I named it Hygge. 🤍
