I love styling hair with a wave after a color service because it can show off contract and tones but seeing it straight is key. This is what will show a true blend.

I completed a partial balayage service to brighten her up and maintain her low maintenance lifestyle. She is now lighter at the root but has a nice natural blend.

This young lady wanted highlights that were noticed. I went in and did a thick weave partial balayage to give her the contrast we were looking for ❤️

I love being a vivid hair colorist even though the service can take longer and maintenance can be higher. Vivids can have a mind of their own and sometimes be surprising in their results. The key is to heavily saturate the hair and make sure it is lifted to the desired level.

I loved turning this blonde into rich auburn with a one- step all over custom color today. Her previous highlights gave us the dimension we were looking for ❤️

I love this client because we try something a little different every visit. Today she wanted to go a little darker and do a "bronde" (brown/blonde) color. Now I am going to be completely transparent with you. I formulated a shadow root formula and another formula for her mid lengths and ends. We almost got our desired look but I noticed while drying that she had a slightly mauve tone peeping out here and there. This was not our plan and I am hoping it will fade out in a few washes.

Going lighter or darker always carries some risk. No matter how much I know the color wheel, underlying pigments can pop out of nowhere due to situations like overly purous hair or unexpected undertones while lifting. I always try my hardest to get the desired look, but I am also human and this does not always happen.

But the best thing about color is that you can always change it 😁. If the tone doesn't fade, she will come back in and we already know what we can do to balance it out. Plus situations like these always make me become a better hairstylist. I love a good challenge and I can learn so much from a color correction experience.
