The needle your trainer taught you with is not the only needle that exists.
Two configurations. Multiple groupings. Skin types that change everything about how you work.
This is one topic inside a full module inside The Lounge Academy because surface-level answers don’t build real artists.

Every appointment is a reminder that this work is about so much more than the brows, the lips or the eyeliner.
It’s about trust.
Someone is trusting me with their face.
Their confidence.
The reflection they’ll see in the mirror tomorrow morning and there after.
I never take that lightly.
And I don’t think I ever will.

One thing I’ve learned over the last few years… Every choice comes with a version of “hard.”
▪️Starting over as hard.
▪️Building a business is hard.
▪️Learning a new skill is hard.
▪️Showing up online is hard.
▪️Believing in yourself is hard.
▪️But staying where you’re unhappy is hard too.
▪️Watching someone else with the life you dream about is hard.
▪️Living with “what if” is hard too.
There isn’t an easy path.
There are just different kinds of hard.
So choose the one that leading you towards the life, you actually want.
I’m curious, which slide hit you the hardest? 👇
Before any pigment.
Before any technique.
Before anything permanent- this.
Brow mapping is where the whole appointment actually starts. I’m reading your face, your bone structure, your symmetry.
The shape gets drawn on with removable makeup so you can see it first.
Nothing is permanent until you’ve seen it and approved it.
This is what you should expect before anyone picks up a tool in your direction.
Save this if you’re considering brow services. 🤍

This is my favorite part.
Not the finished result.
Not the before and after.
This moment… right here… where she’s already smiling before we’re even done.
Six years in this chair and this never gets old.
That’s how you know you’re in the right work. 🤍

My husband saw it in me in 2015.
I didn’t open my doors until 2020.
For five years I told myself I wasn’t ready. I needed more training, more money in the bank, a better time.
What I was really doing was waiting to feel ready, like readiness was a switch that would flip on its own one day.
It never flipped. The fear didn’t get smaller while I waited. It just followed me around with a longer list of reasons attached.
I finally opened the doors still not feeling ready. That first year was messy. I second-guessed my pricing and my mapping and most of my decisions.
But I was learning in the chair instead of in my own head, and that turned out to be the only place the confidence actually gets built.
He’s always had more faith in me than I’ve had in myself. It took me five years to catch up to what he already knew.
If you’ve been waiting to feel ready for PMU, that waiting is the part costing you. Those are years you don’t get back.
I made a free guide on what it actually takes to start, what to look for in training, and the mistakes I see most often.

This place is very friendly & professional. Tanisha took her time to explain everything and was very personable. I appreciate their kindness and understanding. Highly recommend this place for your PMU needs.
Day 23/40. Someone left a comment that stopped me.
She said she asked her mentor about needles during her PMU course and got minimal input.
So here’s what she deserved to hear.
There are two needle configurations. Long taper delivers less ink flow, ideal for fine, delicate work and tiny precise pixels.
Short to medium taper delivers more, better for shading, color packing, bolder lines.
Then you have groupings. One needle, three, five, seven. Each serves a different purpose depending on what you’re trying to achieve.
And then there’s skin. Thin skin, mature skin, young skin, sensitive skin. The needle that works on one client can change your result completely on another.
This is one topic. There are people paying for PMU training right now and getting minimal answers to foundational questions.
I have a full module dedicated to needles inside The Lounge Academy because this is not a one-sentence answer.
If you’re in training and your questions keep getting surface-level responses, that’s information.
Save this. And if you have questions, I actually answer them! 🫶🏽
