JUST CUT IT.

As a stylist, I get to be part of so many powerful moments, and this one was special. This hair came from my new friend of a friend Suzanne, a lifter preparing for a fitness competition, and today’s big chop was part of stepping into that next chapter. We talked about how change can feel intimidating, but it doesn’t always mean something bad is happening — sometimes it means you’re leveling up.

For athletes, especially lifters, hair can hold heat, sweat, and so much maintenance. Shortening the length can make training days easier, reduce breakage, and keep the hair healthier during intense prep. But beyond the practical side, this cut represented commitment — to discipline, strength, and showing up for herself in every way.

Today wasn’t ‘just a haircut.’ It was a decision to lighten the load, focus on the goal ahead, and honor the strong woman she already is. New chapter. New routine. Same powerful woman— just with hair that matches the energy.
