✨Sherrie’s Hair Transformation ✨

Sherrie has an amazing testimony of how she is overcoming all obstacles and still on this adventure we call life. During her journey, she has had 3 strokes, many surgeries and health complications that led to her hair becoming matted. She expressed that she went to many consultations where stylists turned her away, shamed her, or wanted to charge her a fortune to detangle. Luckily, Sherrie’s sister Ann found me and they booked a virtual consultation to see if there was anything I could do as a Texture Expert. I gave them my Detangling price per hour and I told them we could try and see if it was possible for us to save as much we could.

On Day 1: I detangled for 5 hours. I quickly realized that Sherrie’s had hair down to her knee caps and that it was going to be a serious undertaking to detangle the matting in the back on top of her neck.

On Day 2: I detangled for another 5 hours but I started in the front this time. Trying my hardest to save the front half of her hair. We got her entire crown and sides detangled. The entire two days, Sherrie, Ann and I were getting to know each other. I learned so much about her life journey and how low her self esteem has been since the start of her health problems. I looked at Sherrie and I said, I want to cut it. She said back to me in the mirror, LET’S DO IT! I asked her if she was sure and she said yes!!! I cut off the entire back of her hair that was serverly matted and the first thing she said was, “I feel so free! My neck feels so light. I can tilt my head back!” Yall, not only that, but Sherrie cut her own hair in the front as apart of getting rid of the old to be ready to step into her new do!

Day 2 Part 2: We continued to detangle and gave Sherrie a full Detox service. We used Redken Clarifying Shampoo for 3 washes. We also used REDKEN Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo and Conditioner as her hair is in repair mode from all of the detangling, brushing and cutting. We were able to save Sherrie’s length to right below her collar bone. We also gave her a blow dry with a round brush and should took home all of the products listed above to continue her at home care with specific instructions.

Sherrie and Ann both told me how much they appreciated my kindness and services that wer shared together. My heart is truly full to have been able to help her gain her confidence back, and give her steps to be successful in getting her hair back to the healthiest state.

When Sherrie arrived, she kept referring to her hair in the most negative way. I told her, after today, she could no longer say that her hair was a hot mess, ugly, or not cooperative. I told her that she had to pick a new word. Needless to say, her new word is SPECTACULAR. ✨
