Not often, but sometimes in my line of work as a barber, clients and I become friends. Yesterday one of my clients-turned friends was on day 3 of 7 running 55mi daily to raise money for a charity Community action.
Right away I could see he was struggling as I arrived and with no particular number of miles in mind to run with him, I decided that giving him a full day of support was necessary regardless of the outcome. Unplanned 50k for me and over 7hrs of suffering alongside a friend doing something for reasons bigger than us.
We don't have to, we get to do hard things, it's a privilege.

Today is the 8th anniversary of the shop 🎉. A lot has happened over the years from being shut down by covid 19, the decision to downsize and relocate and then the recent closure from the fire. But through it all I've grown as a barber, as a person and am so grateful for the people that have stayed with the shop as I navigated through it all to the best of my ability. Cheers! 💈🇺🇸
