Simply perfect
GOD, THIS IS BEAUTIFUL! TAKE THE TIME TO READ IT ❤️
As someone who writes often, I naturally appreciate epic writing when I see it. This morning, I came across this written piece of art and it moved me deeply, so I had to share it with all of you! Not only are these words true theatre, they also act as sound advice ❤️
my brain and
heart divorced
a decade ago
over who was
to blame about
how big of a mess
I have become
eventually,
they couldn't be
in the same room
with each other
now my head and heart
share custody of me
I stay with my brain
during the week
and my heart
gets me on weekends
they never speak to one another
- instead, they give me
the same note to pass
to each other every week
and their notes they
send to one another always
says the same thing:
"This is all your fault"
on Sundays
my heart complains
about how my
head has let me down
in the past
and on Wednesday
my head lists all
of the times my
heart has screwed
things up for me
in the future
they blame each
other for the
state of my life
there's been a lot
of yelling - and crying
so,
lately, I've been
spending a lot of
time with my gut
who serves as my
unofficial therapist
most nights, I sneak out of the
window in my ribcage
and slide down my spine
and collapse on my
gut's plush leather chair
that's always open for me
~ and I just sit sit sit sit
until the sun comes up
last evening,
my gut asked me
if I was having a hard
time being caught
between my heart
and my head
I nodded
I said I didn't know
if I could live with
either of them anymore
"my heart is always sad about
something that happened yesterday
while my head is always worried
about something that may happen tomorrow,"
I lamented
my gut squeezed my hand
"I just can't live with
my mistakes of the past
or my anxiety about the future,"
I sighed
my gut smiled and said:
"in that case,
you should
go stay with your
lungs for a while,"
I was confused
- the look on my face gave it away
"if you are exhausted about
your heart's obsession with
the fixed past and your mind's focus
on the uncertain future
your lungs are the perfect place for you
there is no yesterday in your lungs
there is no tomorrow there either
there is only now
there is only inhale
there is only exhale
there is only this moment
there is only breath
and in that breath
you can rest while your
heart and head work
their relationship out."
this morning,
while my brain
was busy reading
tea leaves
and while my
heart was staring
at old photographs
I packed a little
bag and walked
to the door of
my lungs
before I could even knock
she opened the door
with a smile and as
a gust of air embraced me
she said
"what took you so long?"

If you received an email about an autopsy of a mRNA vaccinated Covid patient suggesting the vaccines failed. The patient was not fully vaccinated. In fact, the article was making the case for the need for the 2nd dose to be fully protected. Meanwhile, it is being wildly taken out of context to suggest the vaccines are failures and dangerous. I can't tell you how many similar emails and videos I have received. It almost appears as if people want to scare us into not protecting ourselves. Good thing America has no enemies. Here is the actual article:
First case of postmortem study in a patient vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2 We report on an 86-year-old male resident of a retirement home who received vaccine against SARS-CoV-2. Past medical history included systemic arterial hypertension, chronic venous insufficiency, dementia and prostate carcinoma. On January 9, 2021, the man received lipid nanoparticle-formulated, nuc...
After a nice lull from pandemic 9-1-1 communications from patients, Delta variant has clearly arrived. Though not more deadly than the original, this variant is the most infectious organism many of us have seen and will ever see in our lifetimes. 1.5 years into this pandemic, there are still only two tools at our disposal for prevention outside of not leaving your home: masks and vaccines. I don't love vaccines for all situations but I do for the right situations. I have said before and reiterate: a deadly pandemic is one of those situations.
If you watched videos that said all vaccinated people will die within 4 months, clearly that did not happen. Many things said in those anti-vaccine videos that have been circulating did not happen. The question is: is it a greater threat to you at this moment in time to be suspicious of scientists and doctors or of people who said don't get vaccinated because everyone vaccinated will spontaneously die due to nebulous mRNA or DNA this or that?
I have not regretted my choice to vaccinate -- not one moment. And neither have any of my family members. And we are all vaccinated. Will the vaccines cause problems down the road? I don't think so, though anything is possible. But the monster called Delta is right in front of us and it is incredibly sticky and apparently insatiable.
Being adaptive is probably the most critical skill in life.
The delta variant is much more infectious than previous variants, with up to 8 new infections expected with each infected person. Even if you are fully vaccinated, and especially if you are not vaccinated, please wear masks indoors when in public even if restrictions have been lifted. This wave is likely to be much worse than previous waves due to this high infectious rate. The virus itself is not more dangerous, but it is much easier to catch.

Sorry, but we do need to be frightened of the Delta Covid 19 variant. From a physician I have followed on Twitter:
Bob Wachter on Twitter “Covid () Chronicles, Day 453 1/ I know everybody’s sick of playing 3-dimensional Covid chess. Sorry, but the Delta variant forces us back to the chess board. Ergo, this 🧵. If you’re fully vaxxed, I wouldn’t be too worried, especially if you’re in a highly vaxxed region.”

This service I launched last week has already proven much more successful than I had anticipated. It is open to people who do not see me as a regular practitioner (your friends and family members included) -- and certainly to people who worked with me years ago.

I launched Energy Medicine Urgent Care yesterday and have already started to work with patients needing same day care.
The UK variant appears to be here. In the last week, there has been a big uptick in cases in my practice. Wear your masks and stay 6 feet apart. We are not through this yet, my friends. But wise decisions by a majority of us will get us there!
