Nobody warned you what could happen to your hair.
Your body doesn’t operate in separate compartments.
You add something, something changes.
You take something away, something changes.
And sometimes… your hair is where you notice it first.
If you’ve started HRT and suddenly you’re shedding more, seeing more scalp, noticing your part getting wider, or watching your ponytail get smaller, you’re probably wondering:
What the hell happened?
Here’s what I want you to understand:
Changing your hormones can change the environment your hair follicles are living in.
Testosterone can be converted into DHT. And if your follicles are sensitive to DHT, that can matter.
But I don’t want you walking away thinking HRT caused your hair loss.
Because hair loss is rarely that simple.
Your thyroid matters.
Your iron and nutrient status matter.
Your protein intake matters.
Inflammation matters.
Stress matters.
Your genetics matter.
And sometimes there’s more than one driver happening at the same time.
That’s why I don’t believe in throwing supplements, oils, or random hair-growth products at the problem and hoping something sticks.
We need to know what’s actually driving YOUR loss.
At Eden’s Coven, we look at the whole picture—your hormones, thyroid, nutrition, inflammation, history, and the changes happening in your hair and scalp.
You don’t have to figure it out alone.
That’s our job.
Your hair is giving us information.
Our job is to know what it’s telling us.
Test. Don’t Guess.

Ever thought, “Okay, I’m going to start eating better…” and then immediately wondered, “What the hell does that even mean?”
Because there is SO much information out there.
Eat this.
Don’t eat that.
More protein. Less carbs.
No dairy. No gluten.
Eat beans. Don’t eat beans.
And sometimes you finally decide, Okay, this is healthy. I’m going to do this.
…and your body has a completely different opinion. 😂
I know this one personally.
Between perimenopause, recovering from PCOS, my thyroid/Hashimoto’s journey, and recovering my gut health, I’ve learned that what looks healthy on paper doesn’t necessarily feel healthy in your body.
For almost 10 years, beans were a hard NO for me.
And I don’t mean a little gas.
I mean PAIN.
My body was very clearly telling me, we are not doing this.
Today, I can eat them.
I still use digestive enzymes to help me break down certain foods, and I don’t eat beans every single day. I’ll make something like this, freeze portions, pull them out throughout the week, or have them once or twice and then move on.
Variation.
Different foods. Different nutrients. Paying attention to what my body is telling me.
And one of the biggest things that has helped me personally through perimenopause is learning how much better I feel when I build meals that support steadier blood sugar and insulin response.
So I thought…
Why am I always talking about this with people I work with, in consultations, in the treatment room and in real life?
Why not put it here, too?
Even if my page starts looking a little wonky. 😂
Hair.
Scalp.
Health.
Hormones.
Food.
Nourishment.
Because honestly?
It’s all connected.
So this is the first of what I’m calling:
FROM MY KITCHEN TO YOURS 🤍
A few simple things I actually eat.
Things that nourish me.
Things I’ve learned to listen to my body around.
And this one?
It’s a good one.
Recipe in the comments.

The easiest hair to save is the hair you still have.
So let me ask you:
Are you noticing more hair in your brush or shower drain?
Is your ponytail getting thinner?
Does your part look wider than it used to?
Are you seeing more scalp in photos?
Is your hairline changing?
Does your hair feel finer or weaker than it did a few years ago?
Are you telling yourself, “It’s probably just stress”?
Are you waiting to see if it gets better on its own?
Have you noticed a change but haven’t actually investigated why?
Because here’s the thing:
Hair loss usually doesn’t start the day you suddenly notice it.
There is often a story happening beneath the surface long before you can see the result.
And once significant hair has been lost, getting it back can be a much harder road than protecting what you already have.
That’s why we believe in test, don’t guess.
Don’t wait until you’re trying to regrow what’s gone.
Start paying attention to what your hair is telling you now.
Your future hair may thank you for it.

POV: Karen told me, “I could never do what you do every day.”
And respectfully… no s**t, Karen. 😂
That’s why it’s my life.
Now, her name isn’t Karen. And I could have gotten snippy about it.
My usual response when someone says something that lands sideways is:
“What did you hope to accomplish by saying that?”
And then I shut up.
Because I genuinely want to know.
But this time, I knew the tone. I knew the person. And I knew asking wasn’t going to create anything fruitful.
So I left it.
And honestly? That’s wisdom.
Not letting someone off the hook. Not pretending it didn’t happen. Just knowing when something deserves your energy—and when it doesn’t.
And it got me thinking about comparison.
We’ve been conditioned to compare ourselves since birth. And now we have social media: a photo, a reel, a 1/200th-of-a-second glimpse of somebody’s life.
And we look at it and think, Why don’t I look like that? Why isn’t my life like that?
Y’all.
The s**tstorm is happening outside the frame. 😂
And this applies to beauty more than almost anything.
We compare our wrinkles, our hair, our bodies, our skin, and our aging to somebody else’s highlight reel.
But stop comparing yourself.
You are stunning.
Your hair doesn’t have to look like hers. Your skin doesn’t have to look like hers. Your aging doesn’t have to look like hers.
And your life sure as hell doesn’t have to look like hers.
Beauty was never supposed to be a competition.
It’s supposed to be yours.
Maybe the thing we need to unsubscribe from isn’t another beauty product…
