This one is for the content creator who feels stuck… or maybe even a little discouraged because the views are coming, the likes are coming, the shares are coming… but the money isn’t matching the reach.

I had to learn that sometimes we minimize our own value because we’re waiting for the social media platform to pay us.

But what if that’s not where the biggest opportunity is?
When you create content that helps a brand generate actual revenue, the conversation changes. You’re no longer just someone who can “get views.” You’re showing that your content can move people to BUY. And once you can prove that, the ball is in your court.

Here are 3 things I’ve learned:

1. Create an influencer rate card that reflects your VALUE.
Not just your follower count. Your audience, your influence, your content quality, your engagement, your conversions and your ability to communicate a product all matter.

2. If a brand wants to run ads using your content, charge for it. I charge a licensing fee for a set amount of time AND negotiate a fee for the conversions those ads generate. Your image, your voice and your content are helping that company make money. Treat it accordingly.

3. Stop waiting for the brands you want to work with to find you. Pitch them. Show them what you can create. Show them your results. Show them how your audience responds when you recommend something you actually believe in.

I’m learning that being a content creator is one thing…
Learning how to turn your content into an actual business asset is another.

Don’t just count the views.
