Important Information About Scheduling 💕

I want to take a moment to address something that has been happening more frequently lately.

As a small, independently owned business, my appointment schedule is my income. When an appointment is booked, I reserve that specific time just for you and plan my workday—and my finances—around the appointments on my schedule.

At the beginning of each month, I look at my schedule and the appointments that have been booked to get an idea of my projected income for that month. Just like anyone else, I have monthly business expenses, personal expenses, and financial obligations that I plan for based on that expected income.

Recently, I’ve experienced a significant increase in cancellations and rescheduling. While I completely understand that life happens and sometimes plans genuinely need to change, when multiple appointments are canceled or moved, it can dramatically change what that projected monthly income actually becomes.

Even when an appointment is rescheduled rather than canceled completely, that income is often simply pushed into another week or even another month. For example, an appointment I was counting on as part of this month’s income may suddenly become next month’s income instead. When this happens with several appointments, it can leave a substantial and unexpected gap in my income for the current month.

For a small business like mine, those gaps matter.

I’m simply asking everyone to please be thoughtful when scheduling appointments. Before booking a time, take a moment to make sure it is a day and time you are reasonably confident you can keep. And whenever possible, if you do need to make a change, please give me as much notice as you can so I have an opportunity to offer that appointment to someone else.

Of course, emergencies happen, people get sick, and sometimes things are simply unavoidable. This isn’t about those situations. It’s about being mindful that an appointment on my schedule represents time I have reserved specifically for you and income that my business depends upon.

I truly appreciate every person who chooses to support my small business. I love what I do, and I want to continue providing the time, attention, and care that each of you deserves.
