We will be open today like nothing happened over the last 72 hours🥹😅.
It only took a small army to get this turned over so fast!
A huge thank you to Gallina Development Corp.., A&N Install, Sheridan Movers, my salon sisters, Jimmy Ferrara( legendary) Michael Curtiss, my 2 incredible sisters and my mama for showing up right along side of me through the chaos. Would’ve been impossible without all of you helping in this💓
To my new friends at A&N Install.. all I can say is wow and thank you! Just incredible Joe… the flooring install ran so seamless(punning this on repeat😆💓 )….plus you blew my mind on this 2100sqft tearout/install on such an insane timeline! You and your amazing crew are the real rockstars of this weekend 🙌!
So grateful for the people behind Salon Ferrara 💝
Can’t wait to see you all soon 💓

✨We did it! Got the place packed and loaded😅!
It’s time for new floors✨
Blessed they lasted almost 10 years with so much traffic, color spills and endless snow and salt! Hard to see the place so empty but can’t wait to welcome you back to our refreshed space soon!
❤️

Just a heads up this week as the salon refreshing continues🥹.
I’ve tried so hard to do things in phases and stages with minimal business interruption.
BUT🫣😌…
The flooring phase is a little more involved, as our entire space needs to get completely emptied out.
So this is the weekend we are making this happen. We will be preparing and packing up things all this week.
And although our place may seem a little disheveled for a few days the focus will still be on all our scheduled clients this week💛
✨We ARE open with business as usual this week on 4/13-4/16 only.
Thank you for your patience and understanding💛
Kim
💗Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us💗
We hope we’ve conveyed just how much we value the time you spend in our chairs and the connections we share with you. Our salon wouldn’t be what it is without all of you, our amazing clients💗
We’ve loved reading the names and notes you’ve put up on our wall over the past few weeks. We are thinking maybe we will make this an annual tradition because it’s been a beautiful reminder of how much love is truly around us when we take a moment to share it💗
You’ve filled our hearts💝
With love,
Kim, Lisa, Shannon, Dana, Jen, Teresa, Trinh, Krissy, Missy, Sharon, and Karen

Before we reveal our heart wall filled with our clients on Feb 14th, I personally wanted to share my own “client” love story with you.
This is a bit of a long read. But trying to express the impact of the friendships that grow in this business… or for me, right from my own chair…it could never be a one-liner.
It would be impossible for me to choose just one client or one story.
Especially when I think about 19-year-old me, just beginning in this industry… and how I’m now in my 30th year of doing hair. And wow 🥹 I’m still doing a good chunk of the same people’s hair that I did at 19!
I could share about a recent full-circle moment, when a client once brought his sleeping newborn daughter to his appointment in her little car seat. I watched that sweet girl grow up… and a few years ago, I did her hair for her wedding. I was even invited as a guest and watched her take her vows.
Or the client who called me just last month, early one morning, when her daughter’s water had just broken 🥹.
It was her daughter’s first baby, and she was about to become a grandma for the first time.
She was scared and excited, barely catching her breath as she left work to go home and get her husband before heading to the hospital.
We cried together.
We prayed together.
And I remember thinking, I can’t believe I get to share this moment with her. I had tears in my eyes that whole day thinking of her and her family 🥹💓.
Or sharing in the journey of my client who began his alcohol addiction recovery years ago and completely turned his life around.
Or my newest client who became wheelchair bound while also losing mobility in his hands after a “routine” spinal surgery.
I’ve been cutting his hair for almost the last 2 years every 3 weeks. First cut was while he was in rehab and now I go to his home.
The bond we have made and the complete love I have for him is indescribable. He has changed my entire life…watching his bravery, patience, and hope.
I mean… how beautiful is my life that I get to build connections with such incredible people?
It is suggested in this industry, to survive you must keep it strictly professional. Prioritizing boundaries, prices, appointments. And yes, those things matter to run a viable business. But I’ve always believed this work is about people first. It’s about relationships.
If you’re one of my clients reading this, please know there are SO many memories I hold close to my heart about each of YOU. The friendships we’ve built mean more to me than I could ever say.
I also want to honor the ones who are still in my heart, but no longer in my chair.
The photo attached is something I treasure. It was a gift from a client before she passed away.
When she first sat in my chair, I wasn’t sure we were going to vibe, lol.
She was bold. Blunt. And very particular about her hair.
But she kept coming back.
Somewhere between conversations about shared medical history, jewelry, and shoes (especially shoes), we bonded. She’d always ask what shoes I was wearing and show up to her next appointment in the same pair.
Not long after we met, she sat in my chair and shared that she had received a terminal cancer diagnosis.
For roughly 10 years, I shared in her journey… watching her fight like hell, surpassing doctors’ deadlines. She was inspiring.
I shaved her head. I spent time at her home. I visited her in the hospital. We truly became friends. She never stopped coming to the salon…with hair or without hair.
It was her escape to come talk about anything but cancer.
She knew every secret I’ve ever carried in my heart. And she shared all of hers with me.
She passed away almost three years ago. I miss her. I keep her picture in my jewelry box. To this day, every time I buy a new pair of shoes, I still look up and tell her we found a good deal, lol. I wear the earrings she gave most days.
So this is for my Diane and for EVERY single one of you who has ever trusted me enough to sit down and share your hair and your life with me.
I love being a hairstylist because of all of you. That also includes getting to work alongside incredible women every day. My salon sisters.
I am so fortunate for all these special relationships that fill my life. To own this awesome salon filled with so much love (and great hair 🥰). Truly grateful.
In my heart, always. ❤️
Kim

I’m going to interrupt our 14 Days of Client Love…
but only for the very best reason 💗
Because I truly don’t think we’d even be able to celebrate all this love if it weren’t for this lady right here…
the OG of Salon Ferrara.
My mom, Karen Ferrara.
My entire life, I watched her do hair. She had a home salon in our basement for a big chunk of her career so she could be home to raise me and my sisters 💝
Over 25 years ago, my mom took a chance on opening her own business and named it Salon Ferrara.
I remember being so proud of her when she took the leap and opened her own place outside of the home.
She ran a successful business, brought in incredible stylists and created the best work home for her entire salon crew.
She taught me everything about this business so that when she was ready to pass me the baton, I’d be ready in all the right ways. And even though it’s been almost 10 years since I’ve taken over, the part of my mom that has impacted each and every one of us still holds true…
And that is love.
Love for the business.
Love for one another.
Love for people.
And her love for all her “dots” (our salon girls inside joke 🤭🥹).
So today, our 14 Days of Love is celebrating this beautiful lady on her birthday 💝🎉
The one who started it all.
She’s 76 years young (no one ever believes it), and each one of us at the salon is in awe of her strength and beauty every single day we have the pleasure of working with her. She brings so much energy and so many hilarious moments into the salon. Even though she’s only working two days a week now, we are beyond grateful 💗because imagining her not being there with all of us honestly brings us to tears 🥹💓
She deserves every bit of extra love today.
Happy Birthday, Mom.
You are the heart and soul of Salon Ferrara 💓forever.
I love you.
❤️Kim
