Is your Esthetician using a woods lamp?
Wood's Lamp are special hand-held lights that emits "black light". It's used to show aspects of the skin that are not visible to the naked eye.

Here we can see that the clients has specks of orange throughout the nose which indicates oil, client also has white specks which means a build up of dead skin cells.

If you look closely you can see green Florescent specks around the face this can either mean acne or oil. Client also has a lack of hydration in the skin, we can tell by the voilet underneath the eyes and on the cheeks.

Client has hyperpigmentation throughout the face, we can see the brown spot on his nose, some on the forehead and cheeks. This is usually caused by sun damage and acne scare.
