Sustainable and Humane are where it’s at, so so so many misconceptions on skincare and ingredients. Not many people on here explain skin concerns better than Dana Murray]…in her wise words…
“Ahh an age-old debate in beauty, natural vs. synthetic ingredients. Here are the facts...
Plants can be inconsistent in their make up due to climate, where they have grown, the soil, etc. They can contain a ton of natural chemical compounds that can potentially cause an allergic reaction more so than a lab-made ingredient that is consistently made.
If an ingredient is originally animal-derived the synthetic or lab-made version is more sustainable and humane. For example, hyaluronic acid can be made of chicken combs or the eyeballs of slaughtered animals. Labs can produce vegan hyaluronic acid from bacteria.
The bottom line, just because a beauty product contains synthetic ingredients doesn't mean you it's a bad product or run away from an otherwise great, efficacious, and well-formulated product!”
