I thought it was time after 10 years in the industry to rebrand and find something that encompasses who I am as a person, stylist and artist. So here it is…

I’m That Stylist Sammi (Artistry by Sammi if you’ve been around for a minute)

Words to describe me? “All gas, no brakes” “Chaos Coordinator” + “Caffeinated Squirrel” seem to fit. I fully believe I can do everything myself… and I will. Until my body says “absolutely not.” I’ll attempt to rest for two days, learn nothing, and do it all over again.

Off the clock? I’ll be rewatching one of my top 5 comfort shows for the hundredth time but if you say last minute concert or travel plans— I’m already grabbing my keys. Need a racing buddy? Say less. NASCAR, Trucks, F1, drag strip, dirt tracks — I’m there. I’m in my car a lot so odds are you’ll catch me blasting heavy metal and maybe some Taylor Swift throw in the mix. (Interesting combo, I know)

I’m your built-in hype woman. I cheer loudly for my people, protect them fiercely, and if you ever need random thoughts, fun facts, or chaotic ideas — I have an unlimited supply.

I do all the things in the beauty world. Cuts, color, keratin, styling, brows, makeup — the full lineup except for Perms… I respect them from a distance. I’m behind the chair at Ulta Beauty Rockford (Round 2) and spend my weekends traveling with as a bridal hair + makeup artist.

Give me all the color corrections and creative color projects. That’s my love language and I’m in my element. I will happily nerd out over color theory, formulations, and the chemistry of it all. It’s science. It’s art. It’s controlled chaos— and I thrive in it.

I’m a softie at heart, so being part of a bride’s big day — watching her step into one of the most important moments of her life feeling beautiful — will never get old. Making women feel powerful in their own skin and fall in love with themselves a little more? Immediate yes. Hype woman mode: activated.

But the real reason I love what I do? The connection. Building relationships. Creating a space where you feel seen, comfortable, confident, and completely yourself.

So… It’s been a little bit since I’ve done anything salon related… here we go!

YES! I am still taking inquiries/appointments for color, custom cuts, and styling! Going in to 2024 my service list will be changing to accommodate my new adventures I am taking on.

I have limited days and hours for appointments… but that does not mean I would not love to see you!

I just HAD to document this cut process…

Here’s the thing, health and integrity are and will ALWAYS be my first priority. My gorgeous client knew that it was time for a good cut. After a thorough consultation we decided to cut off anything that was split, damaged, or dead.

Yes, there were inches taken off… but look at what she lost… was it really that much? Not when looking at the finished product! Now instead of her hair breaking when it gets to a certain length, it can keep growing!

I PROMISE that you’ll be so much happier with the health of your hair and the fullness you get from having healthy cuts!
