The Razor’s Edge

Today was such a great day, filled with new guests and awesome color opportunities. Abigail came in for a platinum card, but time was not on our side. Instead, we did a heavy highlight, using a combination of slices, teasylights and weaves on her level 6 hair. She is a champion lifter and was at a solid level 10 in no time flat!! I used Kevin Murphy Ultimate Lightener and toned with Kevin Murphy color in an 11.3, and that’s all she needed to be a buttery golden blonde. I finished her blowout with Body 5ive for an unparalleled shine and treatment. We did not do a haircut, as time did mot allow. Abigail was an absolute pleasure to work with today and I hope to have made a long time client. Some days are so uplifting and made of WIN. I love a good razored pixie. Especially on the adventurous ones. This lil cutie cut her own bangs and needed to even things out. I think she just wanted a p***y new cut…lol. I used .murphy products from Angel Wash to a finishing touch with Touchable Spray Wax.

Five years ago today I walked through this very door, in search of change and a better way of making a living. What I didn’t count on was how it would not just make me a living, but also a life.
That decision has allowed me to be creative, it’s brought the most amazing people into my life, from classmates that became lifelong friends, to clients who also have become amazing friends to the educators and admin who are more like family than coworkers and bosses.
That one step into that doorway led me to becoming an educator and I have never loved a career more.
Five years ago I was on a path that made me deeply unhappy. Deeply. This decision was met with a lot of resistance, and it pi**ed off alot of people. For the first time in my life I didn’t care. I knew I not only wanted this change, I NEEDED it.
Was it tough? It sure was. Was it worth it? You know it. Thank you Anthony Coco for this school and all the amazing doors it has opened up for me and everyone who has taken that first step into that doorway.

October is breast cancer awareness month, symbolized with the color pink. Show your support with some pink peek a boo highlights, an ombre or a full on pink head of hair.
You can also show your support by volunteering through the American Cancer Society. You can directly support a friend or loved one with transportation to treatments, organizing a meal train, or helping with housework and shopping. Even the simplest thing can become a monumental task when you are sick. Moreover if you are alone or lack a sufficient support system.
Educate yourself and others about cancer screening and self exam. Early detection saves lives. Participate on a run or walk, such as .
Make a donation in the name of someone you love. Sadly, we ALL know someone who has been affected by breast cancer. Do what you can.

Be the good in this world, it matters more than you know.
