The Ritual Aesthetics

As an esthetician, getting to guide someone through a transformation like this is incredibly rewarding—but watching a client commit to herself and do the work? That’s the part I’m most proud of.

There was no single miracle treatment that created this transformation.

We built a plan around regular customized facials, Jet Plasma, targeted professional treatments, and a personalized at-home skincare routine with NeoGenesis Inc that evolved as her skin changed. We focused on supporting her barrier, reducing inflammation, correcting what we could, and knowing when to push the skin—and when to simply support it.

But here’s the part I really want to emphasize:

She did the work.

She showed up. She stayed consistent. She followed her home-care routine. She trusted me when we needed to make changes, and she gave her skin the time it needed to heal and transform.

I can create the treatment plan. I can perform the treatments. I can guide and educate.

But my client has to meet me halfway—and she absolutely did.

I am SO proud of her and what we’ve accomplished together. Just look at her skin. 🖤

Apparently a hysterectomy wasn’t enough drama for one summer.

The last two months have been some of the hardest, weirdest, most humbling weeks of my life. Surgery, recovery complications, an unexpected eye injury (thanks Cosmoglow), and a whole lot of learning how terrible I am at sitting still.

But there were silver linings, too.

I was reminded just how powerful sisterhood is. I got an entire summer with my kids. I honed my granny crafting skills, taught myself how to watercolor, embroidered and cross-stitched my little heart out, and binge-watched Severance with my two oldest sons.

And now, after everything…

I’m finally back behind the bed. 🖤

I have missed my clients. I have missed my craft. I have missed my treatment room and getting to do the work that I genuinely love.

Thank you to everyone who checked on me, fed me, sent gifts, harassed me for proof of life, took care of my babies, supported my business while I was gone, and welcomed me back with so much love.

This season kicked my ass—but it didn’t get to keep me.

Took the kids to see Toy Story 5, remembered what daylight looks like… immediately rejected it and applied more SPF.

Also, leaving a dark movie theater without reapplying SPF? no Peep would never.

Recovery is still humbling, but I’m slowly becoming a functioning member of society again. ☀️
