🎓 COSMETOLOGY APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITIES ARE ALSO AVAILABLE!

Apprenticeship opportunities are available for qualified cosmetology graduates who have completed at least 1,200 hours at an approved cosmetic-art school and possess—or are eligible to receive—the required North Carolina apprentice license or temporary employment permit.

Completing the required school hours alone does not authorize someone to begin working. All applicants must meet the licensing or temporary-permit requirements established by the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners.

BRAIDERS—HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT NORTH CAROLINA SENATE BILL 808?

This proposed legislation would create a new certification pathway for hair braiders. Under the current proposal, applicants would complete approved hair-braiding education, pass an examination, and pay the applicable certification fee. It would also create an educational pathway for certified braiders who wish to pursue licensure as natural hair care specialists.

Please note: Senate Bill 808 is proposed legislation and has not become law. Its requirements may change before final passage.
