With a heavy heart, I am bidding farewell to my time at The Beauty Lounge. On August 31st, I will be turning in my keys as I prepare for a big move out of state and an exciting new chapter!

unless your goal is to irritate, dry, and strip your skin of its natural oils along with cause microtears and premature aging, you might want to put the makeup wipes down. and by that i mean run as fast as you can in the opposite direction. a half washed face is out and double cleansing is in!

The first cleanse is for removing makeup, dirt, sunscreen, and excess oil. Start with a gel, cream, or oil based cleanser on dry skin, massage into skin, and rinse with lukewarm water. dermalogica’s precleanse is the BEST first cleanse and you cannot change my mind.

the second cleanse is your first cleansers insurance to make sure everything is off. this will be your targeted cleanser for your specific skin concerns and skin type. apply to damp skin and massage for 60 seconds (seriously it makes a difference). rinse and PAT dry with a CLEAN towel. i switch between dermalogica’s skin resurfacing cleanser and skinbetter’s oxygen infusion wash.

double cleansing sets the stage for the rest of your routine. it’s a simple swap in your skincare routine that will make such a drastic difference. TRY IT!
