Your nervous sytem carries the signature of your life experience. Release the stress from your spine and transform your life 🤍

10/13/2026

Your nervous system touches every single part of your day.

It controls how deeply you sleep, how well you digest your food, and how you handle stress when life feels heavy.

When your body stays stuck in "fight-or-flight" for too long, true rest can feel almost impossible to find.

Spinal Flow is a gentle, natural way to help ease that tension-giving your nervous system the space it needs to reset, release, and reconnect.

Sometimes, giving yourself permission to slow down is the most powerful thing you can do for your body.

I have openings for Wednesday and Saturday this week at The Herb Shop On Broad 🪴Message me to book a spot ♥️

😁✨💓

🙈 Okay y’all… I know it’s been a few weeks since I’ve posted a new Grace Moments episode. Life has been FULL, and this one took me a little longer to get edited and uploaded than I planned — but it is finally LIVE! 🤍

This week, I’m talking with Amanda Hegwood of Spinal Flow with Amanda about her journey from a difficult postpartum season into a business and ministry that allows her to help others while also providing for herself and her son.

We talk about motherhood, trauma, purpose, healing, provision, and how God can use some of our hardest seasons to shape the way we serve other people.

And if you watch on YouTube, make sure you stay until the end because I included clips from my own Spinal Flow session with Amanda so you can actually see what it looks like! 👀

If you’d like to learn more about Spinal Flow or book a session with Amanda, you can reach out to her through her page, Spinal Flow with Amanda. 🤍

Thank y’all for being patient with me while I get back into a rhythm. If you know someone who would connect with Amanda’s story, share this episode with them!

Beautifully written. This has been on my heart lately as well ♥️

The topic of religious trauma has been coming up often in sessions lately. And I think there’s something really important to understand:

Religious trauma isn’t just something that happened to you. It’s something your body is still carrying.

Religious trauma can involve the psychological, emotional, relational, and spiritual impact of harmful or coercive religious experiences. It can come from manipulation, shame, fear-based theology, authoritarian leadership, rejection, or environments where questioning, doubting, or saying no didn’t feel safe.

And this is where the nervous system matters. When your brain and body experience something as threatening, your nervous system learns how to protect you.

Sometimes, even when the threat is gone, the body can continue responding as though danger is still nearby.

You might notice:
• Anxiety, anger or hyper vigilance when entering certain spaces or hearing certain language
• Fight, flight, freeze, or fawn responses
• Numbness, dissociation, or emotional shutdown
• Difficulty trusting spiritual leaders or religious communities
• Shame or fear when asking questions
• Rejection or judgement when sharing your truth
• Guilt when setting healthy boundaries
• Feeling like you constantly have to monitor yourself so you don’t do something “wrong”

Sometimes you know exactly why you feel this way. And sometimes your body reacts before your mind can explain why.

That doesn’t mean you’re broken.

It means your body became extraordinarily wise at protecting you in environments where you were supposed to feel safe.

Your response makes sense. You are not weak for struggling to trust again or because certain things feel triggering. You are not faithless for questioning doctrine, dogma or authority. Your boundaries are not rebellion.

And your nervous system is not your enemy.
It’s just trying to bring you home to yourself.

It asking you to listen
To your breath.
To your body.
To the subtle knowing beneath the fear.
To the sacred voice within you that’s asking you not to abandon yourself.

To the voice within you that says:

You are allowed to question.
You are allowed to pause.
You are allowed to say no.
You are allowed to have boundaries.
You are allowed to trust yourself.

Healing doesn’t mean pretending it never happened.

It means gently creating enough safety for your body to discover: What happened then is not happening now.

This is why the body deserves a voice in healing. The body remembers what the conscious mind has tried to move past, minimize, or make sense of.

Healing from religious trauma is not about forcing yourself to forget. Nor it is not about abandoning your spirituality.

I think one of the most beautiful parts of this healing is discovering that your connection with God does not require you to disconnect from yourself.

The kingdom of heaven is within you.
Lean in 💛
