A few years ago I thought it would be neat to have the experience of a client, so I went to Calhoun and had my hair cut. It was a really fun experience, but for me it quickly turned into an educational one. I learned so much!
A friend and fellow stylist once told me “when you’re green you’re growing, when you ripe you rot”. I think we can apply that to every aspect of life really.
Wednesday I decided it was time to go for another experience, plus I had cut on my hair long enough🤣, so I made an appt at . I was scheduled with Areli at 12:30, let me just tell you, she was great! She has been a stylist for 2 years and so professional! All the way from the consultation to the style. We had a lovely conversation and it was nice to catch up with an old coworker.
I just wanted to post this, because in this industry it is common for stylists to put down other salons or point out flaws other stylists work, all for the sake of making themselves feel better.
Areli asked me what had been the hardest thing for me to learn, I told her color but I honestly would have to say social media is the hardest. You put yourself out there, knowing it can be a dog eat dog world. I came into the industry before social media was a thing!
This industry is wonderful, exciting, exhausting, scary and fulfilling all at the same time! I just wanted to say job well done to Areli and B Stevens salon and thank you for a great haircut!
