Aging skin is still capable of remarkable change.
This beautiful patient had never had aesthetic treatments before and had never really been guided on how to care for her skin. Instead of jumping straight to aggressive procedures, we focused on rebuilding skin health first.
Her customized treatment plan included:
• Curated medical-grade skincare
• Two microneedling sessions with Ariessence PDGF to support skin rejuvenation and repair
No injectables.
No lasers.
Just thoughtful, consistent treatment focused on improving skin quality, texture, fine lines, and deeper etched lines over time.
One of the most important things I explain to patients is that rejuvenation is not one-size-fits-all. The best outcomes happen when we create a plan based on your skin, goals, age, lifestyle, and comfort level.
Healthy, supported skin can improve at any age.
If you’re in your 40s, 50s, 60s, or beyond and wondering where to start, this is your reminder that subtle, meaningful change is possible.

I’m officially entering my late 40s next week, and it felt like the right time to share some of the things that have genuinely helped me navigate perimenopause along the way.
One of the greatest privileges of my work is connecting with so many women moving through this same season of life. I hear every day from women who feel dismissed, unsupported, or left struggling to find relief from symptoms that can deeply affect how they feel physically, mentally, and emotionally.
You aren’t alone. Here’s what has been helping me:
1. Hormone replacement therapy— Hot flashes started at 44 for me. I went to my gynecologist to discuss HRT and she suggested I start an oral contraceptive. I suggested an estrodial patch and oral progesterone. Her response was “this treatment is a placebo”. That is when I sought the help of a functional medicine provider who has helped me to manage my symptoms for the past few years. If you are looking for an excellent provider who is currently accepting new patients, I highly recommend Jocelyn, PA-C
2. Resistance training— to combat the rapid, hormone-driven loss of muscle mass, bone density, and metabolic rate. Those who know me well know I love to play in the dirt. I have run dozens of ultramarathons, I love to hike, and explore by bike. The last place I want to be is in a gym. I discovered Caroline Girvan on YouTube when I first implemented strength training. She has since launched the CGX app, and I’m hooked. I do my workouts at home (3-4x/wk) and have amassed a collection of heavier weights as I have progressed along. My other favorite is Instaphysique. I am quickily approaching my 1000th class! This lagree reformer workout is challenging, and is a great full body workout. Come join me for a class .
3. Boosting collagen— by age 40, most people have lost up to 20% of their collagen which contributes to fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin. Treatments such as Sculptra, microneedling (with my favorite, Ariessence PGDF), and energy-based treatments such as BBL/Moxi, help to boost collagen production to delay and reverse visible signs of aging.

Moxi is here! This gentle, non-ablative, fractional laser “prejuvenation” enhances skin texture and tone with minimal downtime. Moxi is safe for all skin types and can be used year round!
For added benefit, it can be combined with BBL to reverse sun damage, improve pigmentation, rosacea, and redness. This powerhouse combination delivers beautiful results.

The girl in these photos didn’t know about collagen loss, skin quality, or how quickly time would start to leave subtle marks. She wasn’t doing anything wrong. She just didn’t have the information yet.
Now, sitting across from my patients every day, I hear the same things on repeat:
“I wish I started sooner.”
“I didn’t realize how much this would change.”
“I just want to look like myself again.”
And that’s exactly why I approach aesthetics the way I do.
Not reactive.
Not trend-driven.
But intentional, comprehensive, and built over time.
Because the goal isn’t to chase youth. It’s to support your face as it evolves, in a way that still feels like you.
If you’ve been wondering where to start, or how to approach this in a way that feels natural and thoughtful, I’d love to guide you.

Here’s a realistic example of healed lips post filler a couple weeks ago. The initial swelling post injection subsides almost completely after two weeks. I find that lips take a full month to heal as they can still be slightly sore, with a little lingering swelling even after 2 weeks.

More than half the patients I see requesting under eye filler are not appropriate candidates. It seemed appropriate to make something educational regarding the complexity of treating this area. Leave any questions in the comments regarding this treatment. ⬇️

Lip filler requires a plan. Getting to your goal is rarely a one and done treatment. A slow, strategic plan allows for long-lasting, natural results. If you choose to stop altogether or take a long pause, your lips will continue to lose volume and hydration gradually as they would naturally. Think of it as pressing the pause button on the aging process.
Please excuse the wild difference in lighting. These photos were taken in different locations with different lighting.

How do you maintain your filler results over time?
It depends on where you’ve been treated and whether those areas were treated to correction. The building phase is the biggest investment and may take place over a few visits to reach correction. Once that foundation is in place, we move into the maintenance phase.
Maintenance is about keeping your results looking natural as your face continues to change over time, and as your body gradually metabolizes the filler.
Some areas of the face, especially those that are more mobile (like around the mouth), tend to break down filler faster. Lifestyle factors such as overall health, skin quality, and weight changes can also influence how long results last.
I like to check in on my patients at their quarterly Botox visits so we can monitor changes and thoughtfully adjust their treatment plan as needed.
If you’re curious about what a personalized maintenance plan could look like for you, let’s talk at your next visit, or book a consultation to get started.

As far back as I can remember, I’ve always been fond of make up. My mother worked as a makeup artist for many years and had the most magnificent makeup collection. As a kid I loved playing with all the beautiful colors and textures on myself and my friends. By chance, this hobby of mine led to makeup artistry work for a couple of magazines—all while working full-time as an ICU nurse. Here I am today, applying similar principles of approach to light and shadows, and enhancing beauty as an aesthetic injector. I am so grateful.
My approach as I get older and watch the elasticity in my skin decrease, despite my best efforts, is to enhance as opposed to transform. The colors are more nuanced and the textures more sheer. I need to use less product to avoid creasing. I tend to not apply powder as my skin had gotten drier with age. The act of applying makeup in the mornings is like a meditative experience; my moment of zen.
I’ve compiled a list of my favorite beauty products, including devices and brushes, for reference since I am often asked for recommendations. You can find the link in my bio. Here’s a little snippet of some of my top shelf products :)
