Color Analysis Theory in a Nutshell!

Evaluates an individual's skin undertone, hair color, and eye color. It determines color hue (temp), color depth/contrast, and color chroma.

An individual has unique color patterns which can include both "warm" and "cool" or "neutral" elements. However, the majority of people are not smack dab in the middle; they are leaning in one direction or the other!

That is why you must look at all the elements, not just the skin undertone, which many colorists focus on exclusively!

In color analysis, all elements, including the whites of the eyes, the color of the teeth, and the color of the lips and eyes, can be especially telling!

Find out which way you lean- warm, cool, or neutral- with a seasonal color & contrast analysis!

Why Bias-Cut Skirts Are So Flattering

There’s something special about a skirt cut on the bias—and it has everything to do with the way the fabric moves.

Unlike a skirt cut straight on the grain, a bias-cut skirt is cut diagonally across the fabric. This allows the fabric to gently follow the body rather than simply hanging away from it.

The result—a softer, more fluid silhouette.

A bias-cut skirt can:

• Skim rather than cling, creating a graceful line over the hips and thighs.
• Move beautifully with the body, adding softness and fluidity to your silhouette.
• Create the illusion of length, especially when paired with a simple, uninterrupted vertical line.
• Accommodate curves without adding bulk, because the fabric has natural give and drape.
• Define the waist while softly following the hips, creating a beautiful balance between structure and movement.

And here’s the key: bias cut isn’t about hiding your body. It’s about working with your body’s natural shape.

The right fabric matters, too. A lightweight fabric with beautiful drape will emphasize the fluidity of the bias cut, while a heavier or stiffer fabric will create a very different effect.

For women who want a skirt that feels feminine, modern and effortlessly flattering, the bias cut is worth trying.
