SMART Organizing
SMART Organizing is Specific Measurable Attainable Realistic and Timely. YOUR wants, needs, time, and budget will be balanced to meet YOUR organizing goal
load and run your dishwasher every night before you go to bed! It will help you have less mess and less stress in the morning. Tomorrow morning, one of your first five things to do (New Year New Habits) will be to empty the dishwasher! Can't do that if it's full of dirty dishes!
Clean your shakers! If you think about how many people handle them on a regular basis, you'd want to do this often! Today I cleaned and refilled all mine, and I'm an empty nester, but I definitely do this after each large gathering that I host!
Empty the dishwasher! Do this as early as possible in the morning (after waking up early, making your bed, and clearing your bedside tables) and the rest of your day will be less stressed. Imagine a clean sink all day, cause dirty dishes can go right into the dishwasher! Wonderful way to stay ahead of the mess!
Are you ready to keep your New Year Resolution to "get organized"? If so, follow along. I'm adding new posts every day to help you develop new habits and routines that will give you LESS MESS and LESS STRESS!
So far... we've added 3 habits to our Morning Routine. You can start at any time...
Day 1 Wake up earlier - and use that time to take care of YOUR needs!
Day 2 Make your bed - you'll feel better about the rest of your day!
Day 3 Clear the bedside table - put away those cups, eyeglasses, books and papers.
Day 4 is tomorrow. What do you think the next habit is going to be?
New Year. New Habits. We are going to continue habit stacking this week until your morning routine is automatic!
1. Wake up early - take care of you!
2. Make your bed
3. Clear your bedside table
To stop new clutter from accumulating while we are in the process of developing new habits... remember this!
DONT PUT IT DOWN, PUT IT AWAY!
Happy New Year everyone! It's time!!!
Follow me for a week and you'll have a new morning routine that will eliminate mess and stress!

This centerpiece was created by me and my friend Lori. It honors all I care about. My grandmothers cookie cutters represent our family's tradition of holiday cookie bakes. The ribbons from a previous years gift represent working hard and not wasting our money or resources. The candy canes represent the staff of the shepherd that watches over his flock (me and mine) and the kisses remind me of my parents who loved hugged and kissed our family on a regular basis. I miss them. The green Christmas tree in the last picture, made with leftover buttons and yard, represents a family tradition of craftiness. My great grandmother and grandmother and mother were all very talented with crochet, knitting and needlepoint. I can't do that, but I can make things with yarn.
