I’ve been so busy that I forgot to post a picture of the cut of the spiced berry and vanilla soaps! Loving those pastel swirls. 🫶

There’s something so good about creating again. 💛

After a long stretch without making new soap, I finally poured a fresh batch—and it felt wonderful! It’s a small batch, but so much thought and care went into this recipe.

Made with tallow, olive, avocado, coconut, castor and sweet almond oils; shea, mango and cocoa butters; colloidal oatmeal, goat’s milk and a touch of aloe vera juice, this bar was thoughtfully formulated with a creamy lather, lovely cleansing feel and lasting firmness in mind.

The scent? Spiced Berries & Vanilla—a beautiful, cozy blend that feels perfect for fall. 🍂 The pink turned out softer than I planned, but I’m embracing those sweet pastel swirls!

These beauties are just beginning their cure, and I can’t wait to share the finished bars with you. More batches will be coming soon, each created with carefully chosen ingredients and your enjoyment and satisfaction at heart.

Handmade soap contains naturally occurring glycerin, which helps attract moisture—and more bubbles don’t necessarily mean more cleaning power!

Clean skin should feel comfortable, not two sizes too small. 😂

I read a post this morning from a friend about how she hadn’t felt like herself in a while and her small business had been placed on the back burner because creativity is nonexistent in survival mode. Everything she said in that post spoke to me on every level. The last few years have been full of loss, change and neglect. Rebuilding isn’t easy, but there is a beauty in it that I can’t quite describe.

I was in survival mode without even realizing how much I was shut down. How much I couldn’t function at the same level as before. You don’t see it, until you start to feel a spark of hope again and start to feel like creating again. Until you feel like you remember why you love the things you love again. ❤️

A lot has changed for me. I don’t have the same space that I used to, and I can’t create on the same large scale as before. And for a while, I felt like if I couldn’t do things the way I did before that I was failing. There’s been a lot of change and adjustment. A lot of moments of doubt and a few moments of wondering if any of it still matters. Days of feeling overwhelmed and frustrated because you just have no desire to create anything. Then, slowly a little bit at a time something starts to shift. You have a spark of an idea. You create one product. You start again. And you start to remember why you love doing this!

Life is a journey. It’s full of ups and downs and side roads you never saw coming. You never know what tomorrow will bring. I’m so thankful for this journey and the times I’ve shared with all of you.
My life and my business have changed. I’m still finding my rhythm and focusing on what I can do instead of what I can’t. I’m adjusting to different circumstances and surroundings…. But the creativity is starting to return, and with it a spark of hope. 🫶

Salt & Sage may look different than the business I had before, but it’s beginning to feel like mine again. I’m beginning to feel like me again. For now, I’m taking the small steps, creating what I can, and trusting that God is leading me somewhere beautiful. 🤍
