Let’s talk pastels 🤍

I know you’ve seen those Pinterest pictures of the dreamiest pastel color you’ve ever seen and now your obsessed 🤩

here’s some things to consider when your wanting that pastel look

✨pastel color usually last 2-4 washes due to the nature of the light color

✨ hot tools will cause them to fade faster than a darker color of the same shade so, a heat protectant and a lower temp on your tool is a MUST

✨Cold water washes might sound annoying but trust me it’s worth it when it come to pastels

✨ a professional shampoo and conditioner will help your color last longer and fade better

✨ a custom colored conditioner for at home use that you can refresh your color with will extend the life of your pastel shade

we all know someone who in real life or on the internet that’s said these exact words.

let me let you in on a little secret…it wasn’t the extensions that caused the damage!!

there’s a couple things that can cause your hair to be damaged when wearing extensions, those are improper installation / improper method and poor at home care.

the quality of the install is just as important as the quality of at home care. here’s a couple things you should be doing to ensure proper at home care is achieved

✨Brushing - you should be brushing at least 2x a day, starting with your ends and making your way up to the root. then apply a lightweight oil to the ends ( my favorite is best life by igk )

✨Washing - I recommend separating your hair from the wefts so you can get a good deep clean of your scalp and make sure you’re rinsing all of the shampoo out before conditioning. Then your free to condition the ends and mid lengths of your hair as normal.

✨Sleeping - Get your self some silk pillow cases or a silk bonnet for sleeping. Make sure you’re brushing thoroughly and using some oil on the ends, then putting it into a loose braid.
