I think one of the biggest reasons my consultations are successful is that they don’t start when my client walks through the door, they start before the appointment even begins with them sending photos beforehand. 🥰

For this client, I had her send photos before her appointment so I could study her features and anatomy and create a rough map before she arrived. Then, instead of spending the consultation trying to build a map from scratch, we were able to spend that time talking about her. What she loved, what she didn’t, what she was hoping to achieve, and whether the map I created matched her vision. Together, we made adjustments before I ever picked up a pair of tweezers.

She loved the longer length from option 2 but preferred the density of option 1. So we ditched the shorter lengths, kept the longer styling, and built the density she was looking for. ✨

Don’t look at the consultation as you telling the client what they’re getting. Look at it as an opportunity to bridge the gap between what they envision and what you know will best complement their features. The map isn’t the goal, it’s simply a tool that helps you communicate and create a design together.

By the time you start lashing, you should both feel confident in the direction you’re headed. 🥰

Have you ever mapped a client before they arrived? What’s one thing you do during your consultations that has made them more successful?

One of the biggest mistakes I see newer lash artists make is rushing through or completely skipping the consultation.☹️

Skipping the consultation does you & your client the biggest disservice! A consultation isn’t just about asking what style your client wants. It’s your opportunity to assess natural lash health, discuss expectations, identify potential contraindications, understand their lifestyle, and determine whether the look they’re requesting is actually achievable.

The most beautiful set in your portfolio means nothing if it isn’t the right set for the client sitting in your chair.🫶🏼

A thorough consultation helps prevent disappointment, improves retention, builds trust, and allows you to create a customized set rather than using the same mapping on everyone.

Never underestimate how much information you can gather in those few minutes before you start lashing.✨

What questions do you always ask during a new client consultation?🤔

Or, if you’re newer to lashing, what’s something you struggle to assess during consultations?

Okay but can we appreciate the difference a lash lift makes?🥹✨

Just a soft little lift to her natural lashes and her eyes look brighter & open.🤍

No extensions, just enhancing what’s already there.😍

Sorry… I can’t hear you. 🙉 I’m too busy obsessing over these lashes.🤤

She originally came in wanting black lashes, but every inspo photo she showed me was brown.🤭

After talking through the benefits of both, she decided to trust me and go with brown instead and now I fear brown lashes on blue eyes might be my new favorite combo.🤭

They complement her blue eyes, complexion, and features so beautifully.🥰

If you could go back in time and give yourself a few pieces of the wisdom you have today, what would they be? Maybe a technique? Maybe a strategy? Maybe networking? Maybe just to break up with Jason because he wasn’t worth it?😂

I’ve spent the last year intentionally putting myself back in a beginner mindset reworking my business strategy, refining my techniques, and relearning how I connect and grow. Of course, I can’t claim to be a true beginner because of the 5 years of experience before, but I wanted to dive back in so I could re-appreciate how difficult our skill set really is.

And boyyy is she.🔥

3 of the biggest things I would tell myself, both now and in the beginning, are:
• Put myself in rooms where I’m not the best or the smartest
• Continue learning my craft
• Never carry an ego

There’s a lot of opinions out there & I’m always open to new perspectives & insights.

Share with me what yours are!🥰

Have you heard my world-shattering news? 😭 PLA is retiring the loose promade fans. 💔 So go buy them while they still have stock of all the lengths and curls!! This was their #1 seller. 😅

Dear loose fans,
Maybe I didn’t treat you the way I should have. In the very beggining I hid you as my dirty little secret. I didn’t want to be told I wasn’t a real lash artist because I had you… but we knew that wasn’t true. What we had was real.🥲🩷
Or so I thought… Now I know you’re moving on to bigger and better things, leaving me here.
I know one day I’ll look back at our time together without the ache in my heart, but today isn’t that day.😭

Thank you for the last 6.5 years.😭🩷

To my clients… Don’t panic your lashes will be safe as I navigate my breakup. 🩷😂

But how are the lash artists feeling about this?🥲

I couldn’t pick just one or two pictures. So here’s four 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣
