Cancer Survivor Beauty and Support Day has been in existence since 2003. Since 2009, it has been permanently recognized by honorary proclamation in the Congressional Records by the United States House of Representatives, Resolution #494, and in May 2018 by an updated Resolution #904

Congratulations to Emma Stanley on being our Cosmetology year two Student of the Marking Period! Emma has shown exceptional growth and professionalism in the salon and classroom. She consistently demonstrates a strong desire to improve technical abilities and theory. She has excellent customer service in our student run salon as well as her workbase learning experience. Emma takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized workspace, follows safety and sanitation procedures, and communicates effectively with clients. Her reliability, positive attitude, and dedication to the cosmetology profession will take her far in this industry.

Its been a crazy busy month already in Cosmetology Career. Besides spending time leaf raking for our community service project and visiting Hathaways farm & corn maze we have had some amazing guest speakers, visitors and professionals. We attended a student focused hairshow in Nashua, NH where the students had the opportunity to choose 30 min classes to attend and learn new things with over 400 other CTE students from all over Vermont and New Hampshire.
Deanna from a Signature Day Spa took time out of her day to come speak to and demo for our students. She spent time showing them and explaining how a facial, massage, and products should be used and completed.

Bizit and Lexi spent a portion of their day off demoing teasy lights and balayage to students. Bizit the newest owner of Avante, spoke to students about business and finding the right salon fit for you. Lexi is a 2019 graduate for the Cosmetology program.

Hilary and Marissa from Hilary McCoy Hair came to demo a Kinsmooth treatment for students. She spent time speaking to students about what it takes to be successful, what they love most about the industry so far, what their fears are and what they need to do to be successful. Marissa is a 2020 graduate from the Cosmetology Program.

We also had a visit from Heritage Family Credit Union. Three HFCU managers Bobbi, Tanya, and Sam, took time to come teach and speak to our Cosmetology students about cultivating credit, how to build a bright financial picture, and financial responsibility. Students were very interested and engaged. The amount and quality of questions students ask were amazing.
We always thank and appreciate our community members that are willing to speak to students and share their knowledge.

On October 21st, Mr. Mack from Pretty In A Minute, based out of Florida came to visit our future Cosmetologists.

He demonstrated some advanced styling techniques through an engaging presentation.
