Our first-ever S**o Bites & Beats Downtown Block Party is just two days away!

Dine with us at sunset in Pepperell Square on Sept. 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. Visit your favorite local restaurants, join us at communal tables, and dance to the beats from “Under the Covers”. Fernleaf Bakery and Run of the Mill will also be hosting pop-ups in the square for the evening.

Don’t miss other special festival activities, like tie-dye with S**o Main Street (bring your own white shirt to custom-dye!) and treats from the Biddeford S**o Chamber of Commerce + Industry.

While the party is in Pepperell Square, many of S**o’s downtown businesses will be open. Here is just a sample of some of the shops that have told us they will be open or are holding Bites & Beats specials:

• Vita Blu Fragrance Bar - buy one get one 50% off on permanent jewelry and all perfume 20% off from 5 to 8 p.m.

• Community Pharmacy of S**o – receive a 20% off coupon with any vaccine, open until 6 p.m.

• Maybe's Maine will be open during the event if you want to snag some flowers, a house plant, or some cool local art.

• S**o Frame Center will also be open during the event if you’re looking for the right frame for that print you’ve been meaning to hang.

• S**o Sanctuary / Hart Light Rising Reiki will be open from 3 to 5 p.m. with $20 mini Reiki sessions or tarot readings, no appointment necessary.

• Sherman's Maine Coast Bookshop is open until 6 p.m., stop by to browse and find your next great read.

• Good-Bye Tattoo will have specially priced Maine & New England flash designs, with this sale open all day on Sept. 10, and during the event.

• Ryder Designs in Pepperell Square will be open during the event! Check out the upgrades they have made to their building, along with the unique items that they have on display.

• Mako's Treasures, also in Pepperell Square, will have their doors open during the event so you can find your next vintage treasure.

Pepperell Square will have no parking posted starting at 1 p.m. on the event date and the square will close to vehicle traffic at 2 p.m. for event setup. Regular parking and traffic will resume at the conclusion of the party.

Parking is available throughout the downtown area and at public parking lots, listed at sacomaine.org/publicparking. We also have a few accessible parking spaces in the Pizza by Michael parking lot.

The weather looks good for Thursday evening, but a rain date is scheduled for Sept. 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. if the forecast takes a turn.
