I finally got around to trying to write down all the important and interesting questions I have heard over the last five years and I will be answering as many I can over the next few weeks!

I know you’re gonna want show off your new wax, and engage in activities that show off your new wax, but I’m sorry to say, you have to wait 48 hours. 🫠

But why? Right after your wax, your pores are “open” and are more susceptible to infection up to 48 hours after your wax. So, when you engage in activities that introduces sweat or other people’s bacteria into them, you could get a mild bacterial skin infection. 🫣 It’s not the end of the world, and easily treated, but why bother right?

All first time clients are given a sample of my favorite exfoliant to try after their first appointment. Keep a look out for my redone exfoliation video soon!

How do I prepare for my wax appointment?
Honestly, if you were to show up with zero preparation, but your hair was long enough, we will get the job done. 💪🏽 But, your results and comfort can be maximized with a little pre and post care.
✨No need to trim y’all
✨Get your exfoliation on (I have a reel on it)
✨Take something prior if needed
✨Text me with any anxiety or questions
🍚Your hair must be 1/4” long to be waxed. Think of a grain of rice or a sprinkle. That is 2/3 weeks no shaving 🫢 More on than soon.

🌌As we slowly say goodbye to summer, I will be adjusting my availability a tad. Though I won’t be waxing in the studio Tuesdays, I will be treating it as an “admin” type day. It will be my day to run work errands, getting back to texts from the weekend, bookkeeping etc. and will be available via text. 💕
✨I will be available EVERY OTHER Saturday.
If you need an EARLY appointment, Fridays are my early days
If you need a LATE appointment, Thursdays are my late days

As most of you know, I run this business completely solo, which means I’m my own Social Media Manager. 🤣 Over this last year I’ve learned so much, and will be taking time over the next week or two to make things a little more cohesive around here. Hi, I’m Jazmin owner/esthetician at The Waxing Crescent…and I am also a mixed race plus sized woman, who is an LGBTQ+ ally, who loves bizarre body modifications, and I am anxious 24/8.
A lot of people are scared to be open about these things but I’m not. Waxing is amazing, but so many people simply can’t find place they feel comfortable enough going to. Sometimes just knowing your esthetician looks/thinks like you, can take some of the anxiety of the situation away. You’re considering trusting me, so I choose to be open with you about myself to help build that relationship before we even meet.
Also, representation in the beauty industry is extremely important and I hope to help by being visible and unapologetically me!
