Because the goal is never just “get it straight.” I want movement, shine, longevity AND healthy hair when you leave my chair. 💯

BABY…after ALLLLLL that, we got our PURPLE. 😮‍💨💜 FINAL PART

But this transformation was never just about getting to a pretty final color.

We consulted.
We strand tested.
We pivoted.
We corrected.
We filled.
We customized TWO purple formulas for dimension.
And through every step, we kept the integrity of her natural hair at the forefront.

Her inspiration gave me the vision but instead of copy + paste, I translated the tone, dimension and contrast she loved into something that made sense for her hair and lifestyle.

Because around here, the result is only part of the experience…and THAT is what makes it TooDieFor. 💜

COLOR WHEEL…CLOCK IN. 😂🎨 | PURPLE TRANSFORMATION PART 3

We lifted through MOST of our unwanted green…but most wasn’t good enough for what I needed to do next. 🤭
So back to the strand tests we went.

Two warm formulas. Two different results. And ultimately, I chose the formula with more red warmth.

Why? 👀

❤️ RED ↔️ 💚 GREEN

Complementary colors.

That added warmth helped me neutralize the remaining green while simultaneously creating the filler I wanted underneath our purple.

Two jobs. One formula.

Baby, we’re working smarter, not harder. 😂

Low + Slow🤌🏼

Sometimes LOW + SLOW will surprise you.
PURPLE TRANSFORMATION PART 2

After our strand tests revealed that unexpected olive green undertone,it was time to start creating a cleaner canvas.
I started in the back with 10- volume developer using PRAVANA lightener… and it understood the assignment 😂👏🏼
We were able to lift through the majority of that residual green while keeping hair integrity at the forefront.
Stronger/faster doesn’t automatically mean better. The goal wasn’t platinum; the goal was to create the canvas I needed for our purple without unnecessarily compromising her natural hair.
We got much closer…but a few little green areas were still hanging on😭

And that means it was time to put my color theory knowledge to the test 💡
Part 3: we’re pulling out the color wheel🎨💚➡️💜

And this is exactly why I will forever stand behind consultations & strand testing before major color services.
We had the inspiration. We had a plan, but once previous artificial pigment revealed an unexpected olive green undertone during our test strands …the plan had to change.

One thing about me, I’m not forcing a service just because that’s what we originally discussed. The integrity of the hair will always determine our next move.
The inspiration tells me where we’re trying to go… but the hair tells me how we’re allowed to get there!

Now the questions is …how are we getting from green to purple?😂
