❤️❤️❤️
Babies that are responded to within 90 seconds of beginning to cry, cry less, have a healthier bond with parents, become trusting and independent children and are able to establish intimate relationships as adults.
Why do babies cry?
👉 Obvious: hungry, wet or dirty diaper, too warm or cold, needs to be close to you.
👉 Social Hour: some times babies are simply awake & happy for a couple of hours any time of the day or night, or sometimes fussy or fretful.
👉 Periodic Irritable Crying: crying without apparent reason, pain, distention or gas. Often occurs in the evening.
👉 Colic: much miserable crying, also in the evening, and appears to have a lot of abdominal pain, distention and gas. From about 3 weeks – 3 months.
What do you do with a crying baby?
Here are a few ideas that may help:
✨ Cuddle the baby. Hold the baby. Wear the baby (in a sling). The baby was held for nine months and needs about nine months or so to adjust to life outside the womb.
✨ Talk, sing, chant, or hum to the baby. Play relaxing music for the baby.
✨ Remove the baby from stimulation: a quiet place, no TV, no bright lights, or people. Light a candle. Take the baby out in the fresh air under blue sky, trees, moon or stars.
✨ A lot of heat goes out the head. Put a hat on the baby and keep feet warm as well.
✨ Try warmth: warm arms, a warm bath.
✨ Use rhythmic movement, walk or dance with the baby.
✨ Place the baby on his back on your lap and gently press the soles of his feet so that his knees bend toward his abdomen. This helps to relieve gas.
✨ Hold your baby for feedings.
✨ Some babies need extra sucking time. A finger, thumb, or pacifier may help. Use pacifiers mindfully.
✨ Rock the baby. Put the baby in a stroller and go for a walk. Take a car ride.
✨ Ask for help. Enjoy a twenty minute vacation ... take a bubble bath, a nap, a walk, have a cup of tea, escape into a book, call a friend.
What are some tips that you would like to add? What has worked for you? Let me know, I’m curious and would like to learn from you!⬇️

Patience, love and trust ❤️
Imagine how intense hunger must feel when you’ve only ever known complete satisfaction...
Imagine how lonely a crib must feel when you have only ever experienced the cramped tight embrace of your Mama’s womb...
Imagine how deafening silence must be when you have never not heard the beating of your Mama’s heart...
Let’s all have grace and patience for the babies as they adapt to life in the big wide world. These first few months should not be a race to be separated as soon as possible. This season too shall pass 🌿
