Flashback Friday to the classes of children who have come out to the farm, and to the way every one of those visits brings us right back to why this work has always belonged to families.

They walk through the food forest, feed the chickens, find the worms at work in the compost pile, and gather around the fire pit, and by the end of the day they can see how everything on the land is connected.

The answers are in the soil and the Earth is a living system with needs, and the earlier a child learns that we must cooperate with those needs, the sooner that child grows into a steward.

Agriculture is a culture, and it is strongest when people work together communally and as family, which is why education at Yisrael Farms stays rooted in the land itself, where every lesson is put to use.
