Starting June 1st, to keep providing the quality you deserve while keeping up with the cost of doing business, I'll be making a few small adjustments:

🌿 Individual services will increase by $5–$10 🌿 Hourly rates for vivids & color corrections stay the same, but will now be consistently applied 🌿 The menu will see a few refreshes to keep services accessible for every budget

Things to know about L'Oreal:

-It was founded by a N**i.

L'Oréal founder Eugène Schueller was a known N**i sympathizer, antisemite, and financier of the French fascist group La Cagoule in the 1930s. During the 1940s German occupation of France, Schueller actively supported collaborationist causes, and his company thrived under the regime, using L'Oréal headquarters for extremist meetings.

After World War II, Schueller hired several former members of La Cagoule and N**i collaborators, including Jacques Correze, who ran L'Oréal’s French operations for decades.

-The current controlling shareholders are well known for inhumane business practices.

L'Oréal is primarily owned by the Bettencourt Meyers family (roughly 34.7% stake) and the Swiss food company Nestlé (roughly 20% stake).

-L'Oréal is not considered cruelty-free.

It sells products in mainland China, where government regulations require animal testing on imported cosmetics. While L'Oréal does not test its finished products on animals themselves and uses alternative methods, they allow third-party animal testing to comply with Chinese law.

-L'Oreal and other beauty companies are tied closely to the Epstein files.

Jean-Paul Agon, the former CEO of L'Oreal and current board member is repeatedly named in the E-files. While this doesn't explicitly implicate wrongdoing, he's mentioned more than most and several big beauty/fashion influencial names connected to him were known for making model/employee introductions to Epstein. At best it's suss.

-L'Oreal is the largest beauty/cosmetic product company in the world.

L'Oreal is an umbrella company for at least 35 different product lines and has its hands in many more. The image is not a complete list.

For these reasons, I refuse to carry or use anything made by L'Oreal. With only one or two exceptions, I exclusively use independently produced by independent cosmetic companies, even in the salon.

Resources are tightening and federal programs are being cut off right as we're rolling into holiday season. Consider taking part or even all of your extra holiday spending and donating it to families who go hungry every day.

This could just as easily be you or me when things start to get really bad. For millions of people around the country, it's already really bad and it's about to get a lot worse.

California residents, this is crucial: MAGA is actively targeting trans individuals, aiming to make being trans or supporting trans rights illegal.

Your pushback is vital, especially considering Governor Newsom is hardly guaranteed to do the right thing. That said, he appears to be in the fight for civil rights in this moment and wants a bid for the presidency.

I called, and it took me all of 45 seconds to leave my thoughts with a live rerpesentative. Please make your voice heard, and make sure Governor Newsom knows what we support!

As a request for the next 2 weeks, I am asking all clients to mask during their visits as we've had several recent reports of covid in the building.

I have recently had an updated vaccine, so I consider myself moderately protected. However, I have a negative test requirement in order to report to my post at Burning Man on 8/14. As such, I am asking that all clients and coworkers mask up during this time.
