The Lip Fairy Aesthetics

I just turned 40. I’m a mom of 4. My body has changed, and there are still parts of it I’m learning to accept.

I walked my first runway of this decade at New York Fashion Week… and somehow, when I watched this video back, my eyes still went straight to the one thing I didn’t like about my body — my lower belly “pooch.”

Not the fact that I was standing in the middle of Times Square.
Not how confident I felt in the moment.
Not the memory I had just created.

Just the one thing I didn’t like. And I think so many women do this. We can have an incredible moment and still find the one thing to criticize.

We reduce an entire memory to an angle.
A roll.
Loose skin.
A number on the scale.
The one thing we wish looked different.

Meanwhile, life is happening right in front of us.

I don’t want to spend this next decade waiting to become a “better” version of myself before I allow myself to be fully seen.

And maybe someone else needs that reminder too.

You don’t have to lose the weight first.
You don’t have to tighten the skin first.
You don’t have to fix every flaw first.

Wear the outfit.
Take the picture.
Take the chance.
Step into the moment.

So yes, I posted it.

At 40.
After 4 kids.
With the loose skin, stretch marks, lower belly and all.

Because maybe confidence isn’t finally loving every single thing about your body.

Maybe it’s refusing to let the things you struggle with stop you from living anyway.

And if one woman sees this and feels a little braver in her own skin, then this moment means even more. 🤍
