Introducing the Hurdle Step: This movement is done during the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and it’s a tool that analyzes movement patterns, observes mobility and stability deficits. ⬇️

The hurdle step pattern is an integral part of locomotion and acceleration. This movement challenges the body’s step and stride mechanics, while testing stability and control in a single- leg stance. The hurdle step requires bilateral mobility and stability of the hips, knees and ankles. Plus, it challenges stability and control of the pelvis and core.

CUPPING 101: Cupping involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. They can be applied to the skin on the back, shoulders, stomach, legs or any muscle group where it’s easy to attach the cups.

▪️ This suction creates a negative pressure environment allowing for myofascial decompression as the skin is drawn into the cups. While massage therapy uses direct pressure to release tension, cupping uses negative pressure to lift the muscle fibers and increase blood flow to the area.
