Our thoughts are with the family of the lost loved one. We also are wishing for a speedy recovery for Chia. Sending all our love to our neighbors.

It has taken us some time to find the words.

Our hearts remain with the loved ones of a guest who, like so many who walk through our doors, became part of our extended family. We continue to keep their family and everyone affected in our thoughts and prayers.

We also want to thank our incredible community. The messages, prayers, calls, text, comments, and acts of kindness have meant more to us than we can ever express. We have truly felt the love from this community, and it will help carry us through the difficult days ahead.

Many of you have reached out asking how we’re doing, so we wanted to share a small update. Chia sustained a broken leg, serious injuries to her other leg, a broken rib, and many bruises from the impact. Another guest was also injured. Thankfully, Peter was not hurt. Right now, we’re taking things one day at a time, focusing on healing, and holding close the love and support that has surrounded us.

A dear friend created a GoFundMe on our behalf to help us through this unexpected time. We were deeply touched by such a thoughtful act of kindness. We also want to say thank you to everyone who helped in those first moments, especially the first responders, the ambulance team, and the incredible doctors, nurses, and staff at Covenant HealthCare. Chia continues to receive wonderful care, and we are so grateful for the compassion, kindness, and dedication that has been shown every step of the way. It has meant more to us than words can express.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing beside Peter & Chia’s House during this unimaginable time. We are so thankful for each and every one of you, and we’ll continue to share updates as we’re able.
