Please be mindful of your appointment times and let me know as early as possible if you won’t be able to make it. Things happen to all of us and it is understandable if you have to cancel or reschedule, especially in adverse conditions such as we are currently experiencing. But if you won’t be able to get there, please extend the courtesy of a quick call or text letting me know before I make a trip to the shop for a no show. Most of you know that I’m only in one afternoon each week now and only taking a limited number of appointments. My time and fuel can be spent better ways than waiting for someone that isn’t coming.

I’ve officially transitioned to the ‘Randy Room’ (all of you OG customers know what I’m talking about)! I’m currently in the shop one day each week and staying booked.
My next availability isn’t until Tuesday, November 11. So don’t hesitate in getting scheduled if you need me.
Sonny is still a week or two away from getting started, so walk-in service will only be available if I have cancellations. Once Sonny gets here, scheduling at your convenience will be easier.

The name has changed, but the vibe will remain! Clean cuts, dirty jokes, and the same atmosphere you’ve known all along with me.

The transition is officially under way!
I can’t begin to thank everyone enough for your years of loyal patronage.
The shop will now be called West Virginia Cuts under the proprietorship of new owner Sonny Miller. I will be staying on one day a week for as long as my back will hold out.
We hope that you won’t take the change as a reason to leave, but rather a reason to keep on coming back! We will continue to offer the same great cuts and unique atmosphere that TBZ has always provided!

TBZ friends and patrons, I’d like to introduce you to the new owner of the shop.
His name is Sonny Miller, and he will be taking over the reigns effective 11/01/25.
Sonny originally hails from Pikeville, KY but now resides in Scott Depot with his wife and family. He brings years of barbering experience and has promised to uphold the standard of keeping TBZ a traditional men’s barbershop and not a sissy fluff nouveau salon/sports bar type of joint!
And now for the question many of you have asked and awaited an answer to: YES! I WILL be staying on in a part time capacity! Sonny has graciously extended me an invitation to continue working in the shop and I am happy to say that I will still be cutting there! My schedule will be limited and availability dictated by my physical ability, so do not hesitate to see Sonny in my times of unavailability. I won’t be around as much, but you aren’t getting rid of me just yet!
This journey has been quite an experience! I deeply appreciate all of you who have stuck it out with me! I’m looking forward to a lot more cuts, conversations, and good times under that roof with all of you!!

Days come and go, years slip by, and the next thing you know you’re the age that you figured your parents would die when you were a kid. Things happen that we don’t anticipate and life takes twists and turns. At one point I figured I’d die behind my barber chair. Then things changed and I realized retirement actually was somewhere in my future. I just didn’t think that future would arrive as quickly as it has.
Today is my last day in the shop. I’d like to say a heartfelt “Thank You” to everyone who has made this place what it has been for the last 20 years. For some of you it was even longer than that. I’ve watched people come and go and have had some unique, but overall great, experiences. This occupation has allowed me the flexibility to be present for events that a real job would not have allowed. I’ve been able to travel, be there for family events, and to just get away in those times I needed to. For those who always understood and supported me, I’ll always appreciate it more than you know.
