Permanently back in St. George again and feeling so grateful to be supporting several returning clients as they grow their families again. 🤍

I got to help this little guy’s mom bring him into the world nearly two years ago, and it felt as if we’d been friends since before he was even born (because we were 😏).

Such a special photo to me. In this moment, my sweet client had just given birth moments before, and had her baby boy placed on her chest.

While everyone was focusing on the new and crying baby, I was watching my client closely. She was still struggling, reeling from the intensity of what had just happened. I quickly grabbed her head, pressed her forehead against mine, and did my best attempt to ground her. I can’t remember what was said, but I remember the emotions in that moment were strong.

Everyone assumes I love being a doula because I get to hold lots of babies. And while that’s a part of it, THIS moment is why I love being a doula. Because I get to hold women. In their most raw, vulnerable moments.
And there is no greater privilege than being trusted with someone’s heart while their whole world changes.

I have the BEST job in the world. So immensely proud of my amazingly strong clients lately 🥹❤️

Butter Birth: [🧈] noun
When labor progresses perfectly, both mom and baby handle the pushing phase well, baby cries right away, mom’s bleeding is minimal, the placenta delivers quickly, and baby latches without an issue. So smooth, it might as well be butter ✨

This client of mine did so fantastically last night at her home birth. What a beautiful thing to witness a family of 3 become 4 💕

Six babies were brought into the world in this room this week. Six!!! Six women were transformed into a new version of themselves. Six sweet souls were kissed and held and lovingly fed for the first time in their lives. Six different pushes, roars, screams, and cries were all heard within these walls. What a marvelous, sacred, special work to be a part of.

The miracles and blessings I get to witness regularly in this work will never be taken for granted. Being a birth worker is one of the most fulfilling roles I’ve ever had the privilege to take part in. ❤️
