Stephanie will start scheduling appointments for July soon. This will be a tentative return date as her follow up to get released back to work is scheduled for the end of June.

My surgery went well, the days after were rough but I’m doing ok. I’m slow moving but determined to keep moving! Monday was my first day of Physical Therapy and Tuesday was a bit rough but I am making progress. Each day is a little bit better!

I’m excited to see everyone when I return! ❤️”

🚨 Salon Update 🚨

As many of you know Stephanie has been out of commission since March 31, and is awaiting surgery. Her scheduled date is June 9th and we are hoping they get a cancelation for us to go sooner. She’s got some good days amongst a lot more uncomfortable ones, but somehow she’s managing…

In the meanwhile, I am writing to let you know of a few things regarding the salon:

• On May 4 we will be making a necessary adjustment to our pricing menu. This was scheduled to happen prior to Stephanie being out of work, due to rising operational, utilities and product costs that we are all experiencing. With Stephanie out of work, we are hoping this will help increase our sustainability to keep the doors open until she returns. Her value is 40% of our business. Due to this, there will be times that I will leave all my income with the business to keep it operational.

• The increase will be between 3.5-5% on most services, which in reality is only a few dollars difference on a majority of our services. We believe the increase will allow us to maintain the level of service and availability our clients rely on.

• All retail product is going to be 20% off moving forward. We hope that will encourage more of you to buy better quality product and support small business. Using ChatGPT, I was able to conclude that the Kevin Murphy store on Amazon is diversion of product, and they do not have a store. Brazilian Blowout and REF both have online retail availability at other online retailers with legitimate stores. This has forced my hand to beat our competition by selling you great product at a nice discount.

• If you are looking to support the salon, please consider gift certificates. Our overhead is high, and everything helps.

• Lastly, Stephanie has full intentions on returning to the salon. Packages that were purchased will be honored.

YŪGEN has maintained a fiercely loyal clientele for nearly 7 years now, and we have clients who have been with us 10-15+ years. We will continue to provide affordable service and a comfortable environment to come and enjoy yourself.

To the amazing clients, friends, and family of YŪGEN!

We wanted to share an update regarding Stephanie. While her previous back surgery in October was a success, it did not provide the ultimate solution, or lasting relief. Her pain has returned, on the other side of the spine, and while she will require another surgery, this time it will require a fusion of a few vertebrae.

Stephanie currently cannot work as a Massage Therapist due to the severity of the bone-on-bone issues in her spine. We expect that she will have surgery within the next 2-3 weeks and are praying that is the case. At this time, we are still waiting on paperwork before we can get everything officially scheduled. Post-op, we expect that she will be out of work for approximately 2 to 3 months to heal and get through PT.

We will let everyone know how she is doing in recovery, and as she is ready, she will be slowly adding people back to the schedule. Keep in mind that her doctor has ordered her to start with light to medium pressure upon return and build her strength back over time.

Stephanie will be reaching out to people who are currently on her schedule, one by one, as we work through appointments and next steps.

As many of you could assume, this time is going to be challenging for our family and business. We are so grateful for all the love, prayers, and support already being shown to us.

Some clients have asked if they could help in any way - Please know there is absolutely no pressure at all. Your continued support, loyalty, and thoughtfulness already mean the world to us - we do not take your love and generosity for granted! Keeping it very simple, the following would be greatly appreciated:

• Most importantly, your prayers, encouragement, and kindness

• Purchase a gift certificate for future appointments, no matter with whom.

• Buying haircare and retail products from us (everything will be 20% off)

A little fresh look! Thank you for the arrangements Jane Marie - we love it and have gotten loads of compliments!

Hey Yugen Clients! We are taking a snow day and will reopen next week. Be safe and warm if you are traveling. Alexa says we are going to get another 4-6” today…and since everyone on the team is coming from Porter County, we are planning ahead for what might come versus deal with it later.

We will be in touch over today to reschedule people as soon as we can!

We are delighted to announce that Stephanie has made significant strides in her recovery and is cleared to return to work. She is eager to resume massage and appreciates the understanding shown by our valued clients during her absence.

She will continue physical therapy until the end of December and may need to adjust her schedule as necessary to not overwork or press forward too quickly…Please be patient with us as we accommodate her needs!

We will be monitoring what’s happening, but it appears as if a 3am start to our next snowfall will begin.

If it’s a large amount, appointments will be rescheduled for asap!
