Nail Ninja

Do you guys know Meg ( )? She has been working at Nail Ninja since we opened and for anyone who has had the pleasure of knowing her, I’m sure you love her as much as we do! She is a kind, generous spirit with a huge heart and she would do anything for anyone. You can’t *not* laugh when Meg is in the room.

Meg will be delivering her second baby soon. This is her last full month of work - and then we had to close for two weeks. Meg’s husband also lost his job during quarantine, AND they lost their health insurance. She was hoping to have a c-section so that she could also have a tubal ligation, as well as a full 12 week break, but financial strain is real (for everyone). THIS BREAKS OUR HEART. Having a baby is a special time and the first several weeks are vital to the connection between a mother and her baby! Being faced with the pressure of having to go back to work early because of financial strain would be devastating to her.

Unfortunately, we do not have enough employees currently to get FMLA. While I will be covering a 40hr paid leave for her, she will miss out on tips from services (and now, two weeks of tips from missed services due to closure) and this makes up a sizable portion of our income (between 20-30%!)

So, we would like to host a donation drive for Meg so that she and her family can enjoy her leave as peacefully as possible. Meg’s friends, Lauren ( ) and Alexia (.blooms ) contacted me to put something together for her and as one of them so beautifully put it, “to know Meg is to love Meg.” We do love Meg, and we want to ease her worries.

Salon update: As of today, we have not been given a definite date that we are allowed to open. We do know that it will be at least mid May and possibly even beyond that.
While I know this has been a tough time on the salon industry, I hope that everyone feels secure in the knowledge that this is probably what is safest for everyone! I know that we miss one another greatly, but right now, the best thing that anyone can do for the salon industry is to buy product, share salon posts and continue to lift one another up!
