Ya’ll! I just realized that this week marks 16 years in the best industry ever🎉

When I finished school I was 7 months pregnant with a broken down car I couldn’t afford to get fixed.

I had terrible luck with interviews - as soon as people saw how pregnant I was, the shift in their demeanor was obvious. I didn’t get any call backs.😢

Finally, I got an offer, but I would have had 30 minute commute. With no working vehicle (and uber not a thing yet!) I turned it down, putting all my hope into getting a stylist position at the salon a few blocks away from where I lived.

Lucky for me my gamble worked out & I eventually got my start as a super pregnant new stylist at Darrin James Salon in June 2009, where I got to work with the most amazing & supportive group of coworkers I could have asked for. 💗

I am so lucky to have not only come so far since those days, but I now get to work with a handful of those amazing people again at

I can’t wait to see what the next 16 years bring!🥂

Oh hey there - I’ve got some BIG NEWS! ⤵️

The last few weeks have been wild! I had an amazing opportunity fall into my lap, and I just couldn’t pass it up...I will soon be a SALON OWNER! 

The current owner of Tangles & Co is ready to take a step back from leading a salon team at just the same time that I am feeling ready to take on more in my business. This is something that I have been dreaming about & working toward for a long time.

Melissa has welcomed me back to Tangles so many times during my career (after babies, epic RV trips, all the things) so this feels a little like going home. I’m very lucky to be starting this new chapter with a well established salon & amazing team, thanks to her!

I will be saying good bye to my suite on 7/26 and begin taking appointments at Tangles beginning July 30th.(Expect a name change in the future - I can’t wait to share that with you when I can!)
