From one “professional pirate” to another: Rest in Peace to one of the best to ever do it, one of the most fearless actors and unmistakable legends. We’ll miss you, Tim Curry, but thank you for everything you gave us.

I pored over your age-appropriate work when I was a kid (Muppet Treasure Island, Fern Gully, Home Alone 2, Annie) —immediately inspired by your commitment to a character.

And I grew up, I got to discover more of your unbelievable career and developed a fierce admiration for your fearlessness and your choices. (Iconic Dr. Frankenfurter, Pennywise and Wadsworth 🛎️). Your sense of play and always commanding presence.

And of course your contributions to musical theatre as well. King Arthur in Spamalot and moving backwards to my personal favorite: My Favorite Year. (If you’re reading this and you haven’t heard him do ‘If the world were like the movies’ from this musical, go give it a listen. Effortlessly human and beautiful 🥺).

I’m grieving the legends we lost this week but I know their strength, tenacity and kindness will live on. So grateful to have been alive at the same time as Dolly and Tim ❤️‍🩹
