Starting Hunt Wellness back in 2020 was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done with my life. I get to help others get their lives back!

And yes even though my health is a bit of a mess these days, I still love helping others and am still taking clients! ❤️

Leaky gut is a root cause to so many conditions, and is rarely truly addressed.

One of the biggest leaky gut instigators is gluten. America's gluten is covered in a chemical called glyphosate. This chemical is sprayed directly on the wheat right before harvest meaning we are literally ingesting it. This chemical has been proven to *cause* leaky gut! Gluten in America is not a very safe food for those with autoimmune disease, mental health conditions, any kind of gut issues, and I just generally recommend everyone to stay away from it.

That is one excellent way to begin to get your gut to seal... Stop eating gluten.

The next few ways require a little more of a personal approach. I would recommend a food sensitivity test to learn what foods your body is struggling to endure, and then I would also recommend a GIMAP test to get a clear picture of where your intestinal health is at.

From there we would develop a diet for your body + supplements to health your gut.

Great common "supplements" to think about for that "healing and sealing" effect:
➡️ Bone broth
➡️ Beet juice
➡️ Liquid chlorophyll
➡️ Eat a variety of meat (beef, chicken, venison, lamb, pork)
➡️ Eat a variety of fat (meat fats, avocado, seafood, olives, coconut, dairy)
➡️ Eat a variety of vegetables, stop only eating broccoli and green beans 🙃
➡️ Tbls of oregano oil
➡️ 1 Tbls l-glutamine (mix in liquid)
➡️ Phosphatidylcholine (1/day)
➡️ Cooked and raw garlic on the regular

Healing the tight junctions of your gut is where we have to start if you want to heal leaky gut. A personal and direct approach is the best and most effective, but if you can't commit to that at the moment these suggestions above are the next best thing ❤️

Calories are not the problem. It's the ingredients. Stop worrying over the calories, the sugar, the sodium in the caloric section of a food. Instead be more concerned with the number and quality of ingredients in the product. It has such a deeper impact on your health, weight, and mentality. Counting calories is not the key to weight loss or getting healthy ❤️

"Starting your diet on Monday" is not sustainable. When it comes to LIVING a healthy lifestyle and keeping your weight in a healthy place it requires balance.

Yoyo dieting and long-term restrictive eating only make more of a mess for not only your body but your mental health state.

Are you ready for the secret? Don't "diet". Choose living and eating a healthy lifestyle. I highly recommend to my clients [once things have been sorted with therapeutic style eating] that they live in an 80-60% healthy eating & 20-40% eating the foods they love. By sticking with healthy eating regularly things don't go backwards and by having balance with fun foods (especially on vacation) they don't feel deprived.

It really is all about balance ⚖️ it is so easy to get stuck in the "ugh I need to lose weight, so I guess I'll try this diet" world, and does it stick? Ever? Noooope.. (I mean rarely)... Why not just go enjoy your life but find healthy eating as part of the joy of eating? This really comes down to brain health and self-talk/self-esteem. It is so easy to beat ourselves up on the daily about how we look - your body wants to be healthy for you, provide it that healthy balance mentally & physically. That comparison game kills - maybe your balance simply needs to start with, "I choose to love me today".

Okay - balance, what does that actually look like!? I read somewhere years ago that, just because one snack or meal wasn't healthy that day, doesn't mean that the entire day was a wash. I'm a big fan of training your brain to celebrate *moments* because that is all life really is.

What if your day looked like this?
BREAKFAST - eggs, bacon, toast, bone broth
LUNCH - grilled Sammy with cookies
DINNER - salmon, mashed potatoes, green beans
SNACKS - Togo bar, carrots & hummus, chips
• Do you see treats and healthy food within the day? Yes.
• Do you feel like you did good? Yes.
• Do you feel deprived? NO 🎉

Enjoy your life friends, it's way too short to stress over food constantly. 😘

For many of us with autoimmune disease, anemia is tacked on as an issue too. If you have iron deficiency, anemia, or even extreme heavy periods, these tips are for you!!

🩸I was on iron supplements for yearsssss! They just back up your digestive system, creating constipation and making your stool darker.

🩸Try being mindful about eating these 5 foods instead, as often as you can and check your anemia again after 3-6 months and I would be VERY surprised if it didn't work.

Autoimmune Disease not only comes with frustrating symptoms but also an increase in being immunocompromised 😩

BUT there are a lot of things you can do to combat it 💪

▪️Eat an anti-inflammatory diet and one that is right for *your body* limiting non nourishing foods like gluten, bad sugars and food additives, and processed and fast foods.

▪️ Exercise appropriately for your body. Exercise automatically comes with the stigma that we have to sweat our asses off... People with autoimmune diseases most likely need something less intense and their bodies will respond in glee because of it. Replace HIIT & CrossFit with walking, biking, swimming, pilates, yoga or stretching. Keep your heart rate steady and mild and don't flare your body with heavy weight.

▪️Go outside. Simple. Go outside. Good for the mind and inflammation.

▪️Lower stress loads. Stress comes in MANY forms: life stress, overdoing it with exercise, not getting enough sleep, and stress from toxins coming from cleaning supplies, fragrances, body care, mold, chemicals. Address each of these in a way that is tangible for your life. Don't attract more drama and disaster in your life, remove those that are creating it. Chill on the intense exercise. Create a sleep routine and focus of 7-8 hrs of sleep. Switch to cleaner cleaning products & body care products.

▪️ Supplements should be recommended to you based on your current bodies needs. Taking poorly made supplements can actually be a huge waste of money and might be doing more harm than good. Talk to a holistic practitioner about what would be best for you. * YES THIS INCLUDES "Multivitamins"*

▪️GO HAVE FUN!!! One of the best ways to improve mood and boost that antiinflammatory hormone, serotonin, is to engage often and daily with life-giving activities!

There you go! Go boost your immunity, it can be done 💪

Just a fancy way to say, "eat your vegetables!" Fiber comes from things like vegetables and grains... This is what feeds all the bacteria in your gut (even the bad guys). Without fiber (prebiotics) you cannot have a healthy & balanced microbiome.

If you are eating and/or taking probiotics then you need to be intentional about eating prebiotics along with them.

This is why Nutritional Therapy is more successful than your run-of-the-mill fad diet. YOU ARE UNIQUE. There is no one else like you in the world, which means you require a healthy lifestyle protocol that meets the needs of your uniqueness.

At the end of my time with clients we have ideally discovered so much information about how their body responds to certain foods, providing them a diet that makes them feel like they have their life back.

Don't fall into the trap that the new diet on the trend train will solve all your problems. I work with people everyday discovering what's working and what's not based on their uniqueness.

1. Run a food sensitivity test
+
2. Run a GIMAP test
+
3. Determine biggest health issues
=
Create a diet UNIQUE TO YOUR BODY 🎉

It's the simple switches that create a healthier lifestyle.

Make the switch to healthier food alternatives and you will feel so much better mentally and physically 🙌

It's a lot to tell someone "just cut that out of your life" and hope and pray it sticks long term. It feels different and not restricted when you can still have something you love just in a healthier version! THIS is how we create sustainable lifestyle choices... No longer depriving ourselves, but enjoying the things we love on a regular basis.

Try it, I dare ya 😉

Good 'ol ⚡S T R E S S⚡

We know after thousands of research that stress it a major problem for humans not only just for trying to enjoy life but for our health.

Stress is actually meant to be a good thing for a body, in short spurts. Like, jumping into a cold river, or running from something life threatening, these things are actually beneficial to our body and our health... The problem with stress is when it becomes C H R O N I C.

Our bodies were not designed to withstand months, years, even decades of unending stress with no relief. This is why people die early after retirement, or their health declines so severely that life can no longer be enjoyed.

Here's the thing you guys, do you want to enjoy your life and your work? Take time, set boundaries, find ways to reduce stress maybe even remove the chronic stress in your life! Whether that is a stressful job or a toxic relationship... You may feel you can't leave that job or relationship, but I promise you there is *a way*, and most likely a better use of your time and energy.

If you relate to this so intensely, it's time to make a change. It's time to start enjoying your life and giving your adrenals a freaking break! This stress will slowly kill you. Stop it now and make some changes to your life 😘

I mean... Ya I'll eat some chocolate 🍫🤤

Dark chocolate can also improve cravings for overindulging on sugar. When my clients are trying to wean off sugar, this is my favorite trick to tell them. Sugar isn't a bad thing, it's the over eating of sugar that is a problem. Sugar is necessary for our body, we need to be able to produce glucose, but when we eat it in excess our pancreas freaks a bit.

Dark chocolate is also helpful in mood balancing - it is a wonderful resource for women on or close to their cycles.

When you decide on a dark chocolate to enjoy try finding a chocolate bar that is about 60% chocolate, and something high quality - a Hershey's bar does not count 😝

Go get yo' self some chocolate 😋
