Big news: Be Well Esthetics officially has a new home.
Hi Friend,
I've moved into Suite 258 at The Forge, located at 285 Liberty St NE in downtown Salem, and I couldn't be more excited to welcome you here.
The space is beautiful, intentional, and built around the kind of focused, unhurried experience you deserve. Everything you love about Be Well is the same - just a better backdrop for it.
Here's how to find me:
Parking -
Chemeketa Parkade (300 Commercial St NE) is your best bet. Enter off Commercial Street, park on Level 2, and take the skybridge on your right directly into the building.
Prefer street parking? Take the elevator up to Level 2 once inside the building.
Getting to Suite 258 -
Once you're on Level 2, turn right. You'll pass the elevators and restrooms, then see The Hot Loft. Turn left at The Hot Loft - Suite 258 is down the hall on your right.
Restrooms -
Right next to the elevators. Code: 1212, then press the arrow/enter button. There's also a beautiful women's restroom near Clink. Code: 0287.
Arriving at the suite -
If my door is locked when you arrive, please wait just outside - take a breath, use the restroom, decompress for a second. I'll always text ahead if I'm running behind so you're never left wondering.
I'm so proud of this next chapter and genuinely can't wait to share the space with you. If you have any questions before your next visit, just reply here or reach out directly.
See you soon,
Porshla

It looks like showing up for a facial every 4-6 weeks so someone trained is actually assessing what’s changing, catching it early, and treating it with intention.
But it also looks like this:
Wearing SPF every single day, even in Oregon, even in January.
Following a homecare regimen that was built for your skin, not the internet’s.
Taking your collagen and omega-3s consistently, not just when you remember.
Moving your body. Sleeping. Drinking water like it’s your job.
Skin longevity isn’t one dramatic treatment. It’s the unglamorous, repeatable stuff done over time.
The facial is where we reset, assess, and accelerate. Everything else is how you protect the investment between appointments.

This is what consistency looks like. 👆🏻
Active breakouts, inflammation, congestion, and now? Clearer, calmer, more even skin. This didn’t happen overnight, and it didn’t happen by accident.
This client committed to her homecare regimen and showed up for her skin. My job was to build her a plan that actually made sense for her – and then we got to work.
We used Oxygen Rx treatments to calm inflammation, support healing, and strengthen the skin barrier while her homecare did the heavy lifting between appointments.
If you’re dealing with acne and you’re tired of guessing, this is what working with a licensed esthetician actually looks like.

You start losing collagen at 25.
Every unprotected sun exposure makes it worse, and most people have no idea it’s happening in real time.
Here’s what’s actually going on under the surface.
UV rays trigger enzymes in your skin that actively break down collagen. Not eventually. Today. On your commute, by the window at work, on your afternoon walk.
SPF interrupts that process before the damage compounds.
Vitamin C supports your skin’s ability to produce new collagen by acting as a required building block in the synthesis process. It also neutralizes the free radicals UV exposure creates before they can trigger that breakdown in the first place.
Together they are not just a “good habit.” They are damage control and construction crew working the same shift every single morning.
Your routine has more power than you think. The question is whether you’re using it.
SPF + Vitamin C. Every morning. That’s the answer. 🧬✨
The things I’ll never stop being grateful for. 🫶🏻
SPF on every single morning. Clients who show up consistently. Skin that’s actively healing. The trust it takes to let someone care for your face.
This work is personal to me. Every appointment, every homecare regimen I send home with you, every “my skin has never looked like this before” – that’s why I do this.
If you’ve been thinking about booking, this is your sign. Your skin deserves consistent care and someone who actually has a plan for it.

There’s actual research behind this.
Studies show that skin concerns like acne, redness, and texture are directly linked to stress hormones - and that cycle goes both ways. When your skin feels good, your nervous system notices.
Good skin isn’t vanity. It’s part of your overall wellness.
That’s the whole reason Be Well exists, because feeling good in your skin changes how you show up everywhere else.

If your teen is breaking out more despite trying everything, the products might be the problem.
A 2025 peer-reviewed study found teens are using an average of 6 products on their faces, most of them formulated for adult skin. Retinol, exfoliating acids, fragrance, ingredients that their developing barrier simply isn't built to handle yet.
Here's what most parents don't realize: teen skin is producing collagen at the highest rate it ever will.
The goal isn't to fix it. It's to protect it. Every harsh product used now creates the sensitivity and reactivity they'll be managing for years.
A simple, professional routine changes everything. And a teen facial isn't just a treatment, it's an education they'll actually carry with them.
I work exclusively with Hale & Hush for my teen clients, fragrance-free, gentle, and professional-grade without the aggression their skin doesn't need.

My first column for the Salem Business Journal is live.
Hi friend,
I have some news I have been looking forward to sharing with you.
My first column for the Salem Business Journal's brand new Health and Wellness series just went live, and it is titled Spring Reset: What Your Skin Actually Needs After an Oregon Winter.
As many of you know, educating my clients is my favorite part of this work. Skin, wellness, and whole-body health are often treated like mysteries, when really they are so much simpler to understand once someone breaks it down. Getting to do that for our Salem community, in a publication I respect, feels like such a gift.
This first piece is all about what an Oregon winter actually does to the skin barrier, why so many of us feel off heading into spring, and how to reset without overhauling your entire homecare regimen. Everything I talk about in the article is the same approach I take with you in my treatment room.
Read the column here: Spring Reset: What Your Skin Actually Needs After An Oregon Winter
If it sparks any questions about your own spring reset, you know where to find me. I am always happy to talk through what your skin might need this season, either at your next appointment or through a quick consult.
Thank you for being part of this community. Your support is a big part of why opportunities like this one are possible.
With gratitude,
Porshla

P.S. As a thank you! for reading, your next facial includes a complimentary High Frequency add-on, a gentle, research-backed treatment that calms breakouts, supports barrier recovery, and gives spring skin the reset it has been asking for.

Your skin is an organ. The largest one you have.
It was never designed to stay the same, look the same, or perform the same year-round. Breakouts, visible pores, the way it shifts with your hormones and your seasons, that’s not your skin failing you. That’s your skin functioning.
We’ve been sold a standard that doesn’t exist in nature.
Filtered, smoothed, and retouched into something no living organ actually looks like.
My job as a licensed esthetician isn’t to chase that standard. It’s to understand what your skin is doing and support it, so it can do its job well for a long time.
That’s what education-first esthetics looks like. 🙌🏼

Three things I recommend to every client this time of year — plus this week's skin tip.
Hi friend,
By the time spring arrives, most skin is running on fumes. Months of dry indoor heat, cold wind, and heavy moisturizers have left your barrier depleted — and now it has to adjust to warmer temps, higher UV, and seasonal allergens all at once. If your skin has felt off lately, that's exactly why.
Here's what I recommend for every client this time of year:
THIS WEEK'S SKIN TIP
The single most impactful thing you can do for your skin right now:
Switch to a lighter moisturizer. If you've been using a rich, occlusive formula through winter, spring is the time to transition to a gel-cream or lotion-weight moisturizer. Your skin is starting to produce more oil as temperatures rise — a heavy moisturizer on top of that leads to congestion, breakouts, and that "my skin just feels off" feeling. You don't need to stop moisturizing. You just need to adjust the weight.
TWO MORE THINGS WORTH KNOWING THIS SEASON
Check how much SPF you're actually applying.
Spring is when UV exposure starts climbing and most people aren't ready for it. A full quarter teaspoon to your face daily — that's more than most people use. For redness and rosacea-prone skin specifically, zinc oxide-based SPF is your best option. It sits on top of the skin rather than absorbing into it, which means significantly less irritation risk.
Hold off on introducing new actives.
Every spring I see clients get excited about a fresh start and add three new products to their routine at once. If your skin is already adjusting to seasonal changes, new actives on top of that is a recipe for a reaction. Wait until your skin has stabilized in the new season before introducing anything new. And when you do — go low and slow, one product at a time.
THIS MONTH'S PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT
Circadia Circa-Shield Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 (https://square.link/u/9no4ZAjA)
If someone finally wants an SPF they'll actually use, this is the one I reach for. High-transparency zinc oxide means real UVA/UVB protection without the white cast, plus added defense against blue light and oxidative stress. Gentle enough for sensitive and rosacea-prone skin, and it wears beautifully under makeup. I've been recommending this for over a year and it hasn't left my top spot.
Not sure which SPF is right for your skin type? Ask me at your next visit and we'll find one you'll actually want to wear.
ON THE BLOG THIS WEEK
If you've been dealing with facial redness that won't go away, or you've always wondered whether it might be rosacea, I wrote a full breakdown on the blog covering the four most common causes of persistent redness, how to tell the difference, and what actually helps each one.
[READ: Why Your Face Is Still Red, And What It Might Be Trying to Tell You →]
A few spots are open this week if you've been meaning to come in. New clients always start with a complimentary consultation, it's the best way to make sure whatever we do together is actually right for your skin.
Wishing your skin a smooth transition through spring,
