The most common phrase I hear as a makeup artist:
“I usually don’t wear a lot of makeup.”

She says it wide-eyed and perhaps a little nervous as she looks over my table filled with creams, foundations, palettes in every shade, and a tool belt at my waist packed with what feels like a hundred brushes.

I smile and gently reassure her: a good makeup artist is prepared for every skin tone, texture, and comfort level. And honestly? These days… same, girl 😅 Same.

This bridesmaid wanted to look like herself, just a little more polished, a little more luminous. Soft skin, subtle definition, no heavy layers.
So, I gave her just that as well as proof that “natural” doesn’t mean nothing, it means intentional 🤍
