WHAT?!?! Salem-Keizer Electrology is celebrating 10 years in business, Bring on the Confetti!
Ten years ago I began my electrolysis career, very nervous and not knowing what the future would hold for me. Now I am 'Salem's Premiere Electrologist' and couldn't be happier!
It's been a great ten years, I have met so many wonderful people through this business, many have become dear friends.
I love electrolysis, and what it can do for people, some have even told me "You have saved my life!" Not literally, but you know!
I admit, 10 years snuck up on me pretty quick!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Salem-Keizer Electrology!!!!

I am happy to announce I am opening up the studio on
June 1!
This comes with anticipation and hesitation. I've missed all my clients very much, and cant wait to catch up. Though things will be very different than before.
Regardless on how anyone else feels about the virus, the spread of it, the politics behind it,
I AM TAKING IT VERY SERIOUS, not only for my clients, but for my household and those I love.
The following is a snap shot of the protocols that are being put in place and will be practiced.

* Temperature of each client will be taken upon arrival with ear or forehead read thermometer.
* If client displays ANY cough, fever, runny nose, sneezing, appointment must be rescheduled, NO EXCEPTIONS (sorry, I know this is allergy season but I must enforce this)
* No guests, children or visitors
* One person in reception room at a time
* longer break time between clients
* hair bonnets & shoulder capes will be provided and worn
* No visiting during treatment time (I KNOW! so hard!)
* Limited upper lip service (sneezing)
* Masks REQUIRED inside my office space & treatment room if not having lower facial work done

I understand this a LOT of rules, but I believe we can work through this and I can continue to provide the best service I can for my valued clients. I have allergies and WILL sneeze and cough, but I will have on a mask and face shield. I have also been taking my temp daily and will continue. I am going to have to wear a lot of hot, uncomfortable PPE in order to protect and treat. This wont be easy for me either. Especially the visiting part. I can no longer allow my clients to chat during treatments, we will have to visit either before or after the appointment. I cannot chat either, as I will fog up my glasses and over heat. Oh Boy! We will get through this!

Popped out of 🛌 like a cork this morning to procure the items needed to open up safely.
I’m shopping against hospitals, dental offices, salons, barbers, etc. I did manage to secure some shoulder drapes, and hair bonnets. I’m feeling pretty 🎉💪💪💪🎉 sparkly about my accomplishments!

“NO RONA ZONE!”

I have always practiced the lengthy, yet important, sanitation and sterilization requirements from the Oregon Health Licensing Agency, now there is more to add. A lot of preparation happening in order to open back up, things will be a lot different. "We can do this!" 💪💪💪💪💪

Good Morning Everyone,

I'm sure you have all heard by now, Marion County was not asked to the dance. We must remain wall flowers🥀🥀🥀 for a bit longer.
I am actually a bit relieved, as I have been reviewing the state guidelines and requirements for re-opening my studio. They are lengthy and going to cost 💸💸💸 my business quite a bit, but health and safety has no price tag as far as I'm concerned. I also have to procure these items, in a market that has been greatly depleted due to the virus. Sadly, these costs will result in a price change. I have fought long and hard to keep my prices competitive, yet affordable. With the amount of smock changes I must do between each client, and other measures, I have no choice.
There will also be new intake questions to be answered before I can provide services, along with no contact forehead temp read. I may have to turn some away at the door.

Business will not be as "USUAL" at Salem-Keizer Electrology. I will not be going back to the old normal. No longer can I allow clients to come for services showing symptoms, even if the client feels they are no longer contagious.🤧😷🤢🥴
Again, if in question, just do not come in.

OPEN does not mean we can relax our precautions, I am working hard to protect you, myself, my family & my community.

Please check back often for new updates, and until then,
STAY HEALTHY MY FRIENDS!

Hello everyone! 👋🏼
I wanted to update you as to when I may be able to see clients again. So far, I am included in Phase 1 of soft openings, but that’s not until after May 15, possibly longer. I know this is frustrating to many, myself included. I want to get back to work! But due to the incredibly close proximity that electrolysis is, I’m going to error on the side of safety. Your safety is as important as mine, regardless of anyone’s personal feelings about this virus.
When I am able to open back up, things will be different at my office. I will have much stricter guidelines, along with a forehead read thermometer for each client. More to come on that subject.
The following text is from the Oregon Association of Licensed Electrologist :

The Governor has not opened Oregon back up for Electrologists. Her Executive Order 20-22 allowed non-urgent medical procedures to begin today. She has electrology still included in personal services in phase one however she has not determined when phase one will be able to begin to reopen.

I am looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

Ok, I know, things are getting 😱hairy out there! I feel your pain, really I do. None of us can get the 💇‍♀️💅🧖‍♂️💆‍♀️services we need and want right now, we are all looking a bit rough around the edges, and that can create a desperate situation. We know what people do when they get desperate, right!?! They loose control, they panic, they get scared. They buy large amounts of🧻🚽 toilet paper, they give into 🤩urges, and they TWEEZE & PLUCK!

Well I say STEP AWAY FROM THE TWEEZERS! This is putting you backwards in your quest to rid yourself of that pesky unwanted hair. It is best to clip or shave for now. THIS WILL NOT MAKE THE HAIR GROW IN WORSE, that is an old wives tale. I recommend for the face and neck area, a simple one blade disposable razor with NO sensitivity strip, aloe strip, etc. Those are generally marketing tools and can make your skin break out. You can also purchase a small personal trimmer.

So until we can safely meet again, take care and stay healthy, and support your local small business's.
