When you were here, I worried but did not fear,
Whispering soft words to those who cared,
“He just needs help, my dear.”
“Just a little crazy, he’ll find his way,”
I wished for your healing with each passing day.

In your presence, I missed the signs so clear,
Took for granted your warmth, thinking you'd always be near.
I called with my lectures, my voice filled with care,
Unaware that in the chaos, you hid your despair.

Your laughter once brightened the darkest of nights,
A beacon of hope, a source of light.
Yet beneath all the smiles, a struggle unseen,
A battle you fought, damn, life can be so mean.

Now that you’re gone, the world feels so bare,
Echoes of moments that we used to share.
With each lonely hour, my heart starts to cry,
For the laughter we shared, our bond was so tight.

Shadows now linger where light used to shine,
Your memory haunts me,  time after time.
Oh, how I long for the joy your life should sing,
For the healing and peace that time can no longer bring.

If only I’d reached you, had seen through the pain,
I’d hold you forever, through sun and through rain.
But now all that’s left are words left unsaid,
And the love that remains in my heart for you,
And the hope that someday I will see you again.
