Welcome home Tilly! This little gal has been settling in for a week now. Both Mabel and Ollie have accepted her while Cob has a lot of cussing left to do.

So unbelievably proud of Sam and his teammates for qualifying for Global Destination Imagination. These five have been working since August, developing their technical challenge of the oversized pinball machine. There is a fantastic story of how young kids get sucked into the machine and have to fight their way out.

I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer on March 3, 2023. What started out as what I thought was an injured hip, turned out to be much more. Had I not tripped over our new cat in late November, 2022; it would have taken longer to be diagnosed. I had done all the things you are supposed to do to detect breast cancer, I had a mammogram with 3D rendering, I had my annual well woman physical with an exam, plus a third physical exam as late as October. Nothing caught it. So speak up, you are your best advocate when it comes to your health.

It has been a long, difficult journey, one that I have decided to stay positive on. I like to focus on two sayings that continue to give me strength. The first is: I fight, You fight, We fight. The other is Face the Storm. I designed a set t-shirts for those who want to support myself and others with breast cancer. A portion of the proceeds of all t-shirts will be donated to Susan G. Komen organization.

Pre-order is open until 7/30/23. Shirts will ship approximately 3 weeks later.

For those of you who are going to the benefit on 7/7, there will be a few shirts to pick up in person.

I've been home for two weeks now. It's been wonderful settling into a routine. One perk is having a cuddly lap cat, Cob.

When I was hospitalized for radiation, part of the treatment was to stabilize my hips and pelvis. The tumors had done a lot of damage in my hips and pelvis. The largest tumor is in my right hip. However, both hips are compromised. My orthopedic oncologist was worried I could have a pathological fracture with weight bearing, so per doctors' orders, I have been unable to walk since March.

Even though I am not walking, I feel happy knowing my strength is coming back.

Finally home, I spent another round of treatment at UC Health. Came home to some spring goodies. Feels good to be home. Thank you for all the outpouring of love and support for myself and my family.

Have you ever seen a herd of buffalo as a storm approaches? The herd heads straight into it. Metastatic breast cancer is my storm, I am the buffalo. With all of you by my side, I will beat cancer.
