Okay… I think it’s time for a proper re-introduction.

If you’re new here, hi I’m Jem👋🏽 A hairstylist and the owner of HAIRX, my own private studio here in Salinas. Moving to a new city has been a BIG change, but it’s also given me the opportunity to completely rethink the way I want to do business. I’ve created a space that feels like me, rebuilt my service menu, and made some really intentional changes to the experience I want my clients to have.

One of the biggest changes? All-inclusive gratuity-free pricing.

I’ve intentionally built my pricing to reflect the full value of my time, expertise, products, and everything that goes into your personalized experience. There’s no guessing what your appointment will cost. No doing math and no expectation to add a tip at checkout.

After 16 years in this industry, working as a booth renter in different salons, I’ve spent A LOT of time thinking about what makes a hair appointment actually feel good. For me, it’s creating really good hair in a cool, relaxing, but fun one-on-one environment where you feel heard, cared for, and completely comfortable being yourself. And now, after years of having all of these ideas in my head, I finally get to bring them to life in my own space.

It’s a new city and a new chapter, but the same love & passion for really good hair… I’m just doing business a little differently now.
